  1. Double Print for translucent digital prints

We use Onyx to increase the color/saturation in the RIP itself. We have certain percentages we use regularly for things like this. You will have to experiment as your ink & color profiles are different, but 35% might be a good place to start.
  2. Free Stuff For Y'all

Geneva, Do you know which ones were in SignElements? I'm genuinely curious if this would be a good investment to subscribe to alongside our other resources. I know sometimes places will release templates after vehicles have been out for a while but when some are first released it takes a while...
  3. Free Stuff For Y'all

Trailer template for an ATC PRo Fiber Trailer. 10% Scale.
  4. 40' Long x 4' Tall Wall Vinyl

Get a "Bill Collector" or "Big Squeegee" and do large passes to get it down most of the way, then go back over it to get any remaining air out. I'm pretty sure IJ35c is air release, right? FWIW, why not use cast vinyl?
  5. how to have a real white on yellow fluo vinyl?

If you're printing with a Gerber machine we like Arctic White here for a good solid white, Flood Coat White seems to be problematic.
  6. Show me your rack!

https://www.signs101.com/threads/free-stuff-for-yall.118411/page-4#post-1492201 Store everything vertically. You can remove ANY sheet you want from any slot. Easy to sort materials and easy to load/unload. There's even a drawing to help you make your own there.
  7. how to have a real white on yellow fluo vinyl?

The only way would be with a flatbed plotter which prints "thicker" than a standard printer. White itself is not a "block out" color and lets light through it, revealing the color behind it. Which is why (opaque) white vinyl has a gray adhesive. If it had a clear adhesive the light/color would...
  8. tracing pen?

This sounds more like a job for knifeless tape and/or the tape that is made for you to cut on with a knife. Put the tape down and lay the vinyl over it with extra. Pull the knifeless tape or hand-draw it over the cutting tape and it is done. You could also use a low tack mask and apply it over...
  9. How many continuous hours of printing?

The Espon printers here run full rolls all day every day without issue. We always run a head check at the beginning of every roll and if it's good to go we send it.
  10. Permanent Carpet Vinyl(?)

I was almost thinking of something like a gigantic heat pressed vinyl piece, but no idea on anything "real".
  11. Hammertone finish

Cast vinyl, properly outgassed before lamination, and lots of post heating and pressure should stay fine, but there are also vinyls made specifically for "low energy surfaces" that might stick even better.
  12. Vinyl for temporary vehicle decals

Magnets can cause more damage to a vehicle's surface than vinyl will. Plus, magnets cost you and them more to make, so you have to charge them more for an inferior product.
  13. Vinyl for temporary vehicle decals

Any regular wrap vinyl would work and be decently easy to remove without leaving any adhesive. The proper material for the job would be a vinyl like 3M UltraRemoveable or Gerber InstaChange, as removal is very easy by the customer and guarantees no adhesive residue, but buying a roll just for a...
  14. Permanent Carpet Vinyl(?)

Anyone? Any alternative solutions you can think of?
  15. Cutting Tactile Letters

Might be the incorrect bit for the job? I haven't done that material in years but IIRC we used a different V bit than usual... but it cut the little letters fine then. I also remember using certain fonts and ADA settings...
  16. Discussion New machine or repair old

Heads strikes on vinyl should not be able to cause permanent head damage after just a few swipes. Sure, it can cause clogged nozzles but usually it takes the head hitting an edge clamp or something in the capping station to cause significant permanent damage. Look at the travel path of your...
  17. Prepasted wallpaper

When we had a latex printer (5+ years ago now) there was a material exactly like you're describing for latex machines only. I have no idea what it was called anymore but it was pretty nice.
  18. Photo megapixel help

Just because file sizes are larger, doesn't mean the photos are of a higher quality or clearer. There are a lot of variables in photography, and also just between "cameras". When it comes to lenses, depth of field, etc there are even more variables. FWIW, phones, etc are not meant to be quality...
  19. Epson 80600 pressure Roller Assembly Kit part#

Compass Micro should be able to send you the parts diagram so you can order the correct part.
  20. Right/Wrong Ethical/Unethical

Since 3M stopped making perf for the rest of this year (from what I'm told) they are spec'ing "unobtainium". Get the best quality 60/40 you can buy, and it'll be a comparable warranty to 3Ms vinyl and roll with it.
