if it is one of the early VG printers, avoid it at all costs, Roland pushed them out to market long before they ironed out the bugs, I think the new ones are OK now, but the first run of the Tru-Vis printers were horrible, I had 3 replaced under warrantee, ask me how I know...
The compressor for the rolls roller came with it, not sure on any of the specs, but it's about the size of a shoe box and is whisper quiet, kicks in about every 10 times we raise/lower the roller
I'm interested in knowing about the air compressor as well, as far as I can tell the only pneumatic part on the machine is the plunge down hold down things, plus any pneumatic tools you want to run. I can't see the hold downs needing much air, our rolls roller has a similar setup and runs of a...
I thought the latex printers have always had issues with printed lengths being very inconsistent. Isn't there some tension bar or something the HP came up with to help with this?
Any of the floor vinyls I've seen that do t need to be laminated are significantly more expensive than regular vinyl and floor lam together. I don't see the point for 99% of applications
For these types of applications, we have switched to General Formulations 6 mil semi rigid vinyl, it's nice and thick for the client to install and it doesn't curl on the edge when printed full bleed.
The decal in your photo looks to be laminated correct? If so it's not the vinyl curling from...
Yup as far as I can tell there is no 1/8" 1/4" or 3/16" clear acrylic in all of Ontario, and most of the stuff on order from our suppliers is spoken for already.
I think it depends, are you running into a bottleneck with your printer? Is it running 8+ hours a day? for us, the bottleneck is always with finishing, I can't laminate, mount & trim a print to a board as fast as the printer can print it.
I agree with the other poster, in order to get a...
Hey Phil:
Quick question for you about this machine, I understand that there is a foam sacrifice roll that you need to use between the material and the conveyor belt when using the router attachment, is that material reusable? can you typically get a lot of repeated use from it before you need...
Hey Pat, have you gotten a quote on this machine in Canada? I've had my eye on one but I don't deal with ND Graphics so I don't have a sales rep. Feel free to PM me if you want.
I'm not sure about how unhealthy it is, but it smells enough to make me feel unwell, and I print with a solvent printer all day so I'm used to ink/unpleasant smells.
If I brought one home it would last about 30 minutes before the wife would make me get it out.
I would recommend seeing one in action first, they are cool machines, but not something I would run in my home, the ink stinks even with the BOFA unit, it's manageable in a shop, but I wouldn't put it near my family.
Can you print directly on styrene with an Epson s40600? I've got an s80600 and never considered this. We print on a cheap matte vinyl and apply with our rolls roller.
Are these standard sheets of styrene or some kind of roll stock made for printing?
Not completely true, the trotec uses a ceramic laser tube, where the Chinese machine is glass. The glass tube has a shelf life of xx months from the date it was made due to the gasses escaping the glass, the ceramic tube does not have that issue and can last for years.
Laser tubes on Chinese...
There is a plugin for illustrator, Corel draw and InDesign called e cut, it has tons of super useful tools like nesting, weedlines etc. One of the features is "cut line consolidation" where if you have a bunch of cut lines on top of each other, it will delete any duplicate lines.
Look into it...
We have owned 8 trotecs over the years, they are absolute workhorses! Ours run for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week with no issues over the last 15 years.
Also, regarding printing tactile & braille, have you looked into that? My understanding is that is an incredibly slow process with less than...
