If someone ordered 1 of there they would be looking at $95 - 150 depending on how much I wanted the job.

Our process would be: - mask both sides of acrylic -cut out the window with the laser, just through the mask - remove the mask, leaving the window covered - paint the sign the desired colour - peel off the mask, revealing the clear window -attach to backer piece of acrylic using foam tape strips...

I agree, we would make these in house with our laser engraver, pretty easy but small quantities have a PITA fee added on due to setup time.

What does the service contract cover? Consumables for plotters are basically the cutting strip, blades and grit rollers. Cutting strips should last year's, blades are cheap and grit rollers can go 5+ years of heavy use and still be perfect. Sounds like a pure profit centre for your supplier...

We had issues with Roland, we were early adaptors of the Tru-Vis printers and we had nothing but issues, in the end our dealer had to swap it 3 times due to various issues we had that they couldn't fix. In the end the dealer bought it back from us for what we paid for it, but Roland didn't...

  14. Question What am I worth?

If your current shop is only doing $500,000 in yearly sales with 4 employees, I don't think there is going to be a whole lot of money there to give you a raise with. Go interview with the signarama, see what they offer you, then give your current boss the option to match it, if they don't then...
  15. Lighted sign...I think I can do this?

That doesn't look like any sign cabinet I've ever seen, where are the rusty screws and 6 lbs of caulking holding it all together. I bet the tracks aren't full of moss and maple keys either. They just don't make em like they used to

  17. Contractor Woes - If its not in my quote am I liable for it?

If it's the typical interior signage RFQ put out by an architect, it's tricky, usually there are quite a few contradictions in the bid documents, and they never leave enough time to get questions answered. I just had one cross my desk last week that spec's all Vista system products, however it...

From the customers point of view, before they hired you they had a empty wall and a bunch of wall paper, now they have an empty wall and no wall paper, so they are out the $ paid for the wallpaper, you owe them that $. 19. Cutting circular printed vinyl graphics (basic)

We do option 2 on our graphtec all the time, the perf cut cuts the vinyl really well to the point it looks the same as a die cut. Perf cutting is quite slow, so keep in mind it's about 5 times slower than die cutting.
