a little birdie on here told me that HP is coming out with a new 700 series that is cheaper and better than the previous model. anyone know when that is? And is there more information out there yet on it?
I been cutting vinyl letters for almost 15 years now, printing for about 5. Got a big job which to outsource would cost about $1800, a 40x 40" machine seems to go on the low end for $500.
My question is what is the learning curve on these? I know plotter cutting frontwards and backwards...
I have a 315. it's just not able to hit marks my clients require. is the 700 worth it? or is 360 a big enough jump? mostly the 315 struggles with grays and mid tones going pink or blue
I been getting more jobs where color matching is pretty key, wondering if a monitor like this one would save some time in the process. In other words if I can match it on the screen and roughly get what is on the screen to print that would save a lot of time and guesswork especially with curves...
I often wonder if I charge too little for printing. My rate is $6.50 a square foot for non-laminated printing on stocked vinyl. Any specialty vinyls I add a surcharge for the roll on top of the sq ft price. Trying to get a sense of what others (especially those in NYC) charge. As my subject...
Canal Plastics has a great one. It's translucent, very thin and cuts great. We used it for a 22" headliner title that spanned 200 feet and worked great on a sheetrock wall. https://www.canalplastic.com/
I gotta say the new Cut Master 5 is seems so different, I gave it a look and nothing was in its original place. I am all game for learning but when, our business does not slow down enough where the machines are down for days so I can learn tweak. Maybe I am just slow at this, but perhaps there...
Mac, Illustrator, Graphtec, Cut master 4 has made me a shit ton of money. When Macs can run a HP latex I will have a ceremony to throw my PC out the window.
Ive had some really bad experiences with SandF. 20min hold times to order, orders going to wrong addresses, billing me 2x sometimes 3x over. And today the grand slam, wrong material wrong substrate, demanding payment on site, then countless calls for my credit card which they have had for 4...
The ONLY way to do what your asking for is a process called "Dry Transfer Type" It us essentially Letraset. A photo emulsion process that leaves the graphic on a transfer paper. There are vendors that will take your vector file and color choices and make the type perfect down to 1 and 2pt...
Over the 20 years I been doing this this happened a few times here and there. but now its happening on almost every install with a colored wall. Specifically the material it happens most with is Oracal 631 exhibition matte vinyl on colored walls. We have adjusted the transfer tape, the type of...
I saw something like this at the SIGA show in 2018, but forget the name of it. It was specific to the sign industry, but really any software that can simplify installs and hours worked on installs would be welcome.
