Angela, We have j a new "Micro-Suction" PET film that prints beautifully on HP Latex. https://www.instantonemedia.com/product/iom-micro-suction-pet-vinyl/ IOM Micro-Suction PET Vinyl can be applied to any smooth (glass, metal, etc . . .) or semi-smooth (drywall, appliances, etc . . .) surface...
  2. Laminator suggestions

We were looking at the GFP and USTech. We opted for the USTech because the rollers can be raised higher than the GFP which makes loading material easier. Ours doesn't have a take up reel. But we bought one from AliExpress, then a 2nd from Digiprint and mounted it to the wall next to the laminator.
  3. Home made Take up reel? Take up Reel hacks?

We bought a take up reel system on Aliexpress about 3 years ago and mounted it to the wall near our laminator and it worked great. However, we stripped the torque dial and had to replace the whole unit. We bought one 3 weeks ago from Digiprint...
  4. Wanted Looking to purchase shipping label printer for small business

We use Zebra. But we got them free when we set up our accounts with FedEx & Endecia (now owned by Stamps.com). If you ship with FedEx or UPS, they should be able to provide one for free, or for around $5/mo.
  5. Big clients that don't pay on time?????

We have a large client that has net 60, but if they pay in 45, they get a 3% discount. Perhaps you can build your pricing so that you get 100% of your desired price in 45 (or 30), but get 103% after that. Perhaps a small discount will encourage them to pay sooner.
  6. One big spelling mistake

    Well played.
  7. What's up with DIGIprint Supplies

We just purchased a take-up reel system from them and they're telling me it's 3 business days to their warehouse in Miami, then 2 day to us. Fingers crossed.
  8. What's Your Experience with Large Vehicle Magnets?

If you do opt to go with a magnet, we've just started carrying magnetics. We have a 20 mil Printable High-Energy magnet which has a 90 lb per sq ft pull force which stronger than most typical 30 mil magnets. It's thinner and lighter and may be a better option for a magnet this size on the side...
  9. Switched to IJ35C, now having weird streaking problem

But they said they doesn't see this when they printed it on the Epson.
  10. Laminator Issues

The only issue we've had with ours was the chain slipping off the gears because the chain tension wasn't high enough. We make sure the rolls of lam and vinyl are rolled tightly before they're loaded. We also use a take-up reel we mounted to the wall nearby.
  11. Does an actual vinyl exist with magnetic capabilities?

You could use a peel & stick magnetic receptive material. Then use a dry-erase magnet. With this combo, magnets could be applied onto the dry-erase magnet.
  12. 12" wide CAUTION Tape or decal? Recommendations

JP4, Where in GA are you? We're in Atlanta and we have a couple 14.5" rolls of our glossy air-release vinyl laying around. I'll give you the vinyl for free. You could print the "caution tape" 12.5" wide w/o a border. Then use a chop-saw to trim it down to 12" wide. Viola, you're done. Call me...

We have a case of the the JVV Magenta 1 liter bottles: SAP code: 1332242. I know you need the bags, and I'm not sure how the bags work. But we still have our old bulk ink system with the tanks and cartridges we can send along as well. I'll PM you with my cell and we can figure out if we can...
  15. Where do you get your Mimaki ES3 inks from?

We've gotten ink from Grant Graphics in Saratoga Springs, NY
  16. Window Perf vinyl sticking to middle layer

Or it could just be a defective liner. Switching brands is wise. But you should call your supplier and have them replace the roll. You're probably not the only person this is happening to and I bet the whole lot of material is doing the same thing. If you wind up ordering the same brand...
  17. Wholesale Printing To The Trade

Just start cold calling sign-shops in your area and ask if they outsource their printing, or ever have to turn down jobs outside their printing capabilities. If they do, make the pitch.
  18. Branching out into the consumer market

Those look pretty cool, especially the Koi phone cover. For reasons mentioned above, I wouldn't focus on custom work. Instead, pick a few designs, produce a small run, and list on Etsy, Amazon, Amazon-Handmade to test the market. Then, when they start selling, get ready for the Chinese...
  19. CJV30 Can't get all Black nozzles to fire

That is what our prints looked like. We switched only the black to OEM, and kept Triangle for CMY, and that fixed it immediately.
  20. CJV30 Can't get all Black nozzles to fire

For what we do, those few nozzles were really affecting our print. We go through 8-10 cartridges a week, so the savings made sense. However, the older the machines got, the more frequently we were replacing capping stations and such and the down time and parts no longer made it worthwhile and...
