  1. You can't make this stuff up.

Damn! That's brutal. Luckily none of your other staff were injured or affected and that guy didn't do anything worse with the truck. I'd leave the blood stains to remind new hires not to mess around. (Kidding, not kidding)
  2. Can I get some assistance from experienced people?

No, I wouldn't use 3551, 3591, 3651 or most Orajet films for wrapping, or much else to be honest. I find they all shrink like crazy even when used on flat surfaces. You'll want to explore cast wrap combos. Every manufacturer will have a couple of offerings, and they will all be at the top end...
  3. White Ink printing: which one is hands down the best?

Yeah we've had ours for about 4 years and still going strong. Don't use white lots but when we do it's there and ready for us. Surprisingly the white nozzles all come back after a quick clean, despite rarely firing those channels.
  4. UCJV300 A/B DTF, does it work?

I'd also be really curious to know if it's doable. Doesn't some sort of shaker or something have to be used?
  5. Suggestions Bringing banner finishing in-house

I know this has been discussed before, but I wanted to start a new thread nonetheless. We've been getting more and more requests/opportunities to bid on large volume banner orders and I'd like to eventually add some sort of finishing equipment in house to increase our efficiency. Our...
  6. White Ink Adhesion

Cool, thanks! I'm always on the hunt for new materials to prep substrates before printing. Our Oce Arizona is very finicky when it comes to prep.
  7. White Ink Adhesion

Do you happen to have more details about the "Wonder Cleaner" on your list?
  8. Dry Ice vinyl removal?

My first jobs out of high school were at a few dealerships.....Porsche/VW, Acura, Honda etc doing detailing. I remember at the Honda dealership they moved the payment "structure" to piecemeal....so a full detail would get x, rustproofing would get y, etc etc. The old lifers would always jump...
  9. Install halo lit letters on wood fence?

    They won't, they're a bot...............
  10. Dry Ice vinyl removal?

Well ain't that some shit. I've NEVER heard of this before.
  11. Brick Vinyl Removal and Install

Is going over the existing vinyl an option? Seems like it's in decent shape.
  12. How Should I Apply?

Exactly. Regardless of how stubborn/dull the customer is, don't let them dictate what kind of materials you'll use. Vinyl on the glass or a 3mm ACM panel installed over frames.
  13. Can I get some assistance from experienced people?

Welcome from Winnipeg! You'll find lots of good info here - don't hesitate to create new threads with questions that you have. Feel free to PM me if you'd rather. I'm no expert but have been doing this for a while. Cheers.
  14. Suggestions Best speed for Mimaki UCJV300-160

We have a custom built 600x600 profile that we use for 99% of our jobs. When we can get away with it and need a bit of extra speed we have a 300x900 profile we use, but not very often. Which RIP are you using? Inkset & configuration?
  15. Suggestions Do you sell auction paddles and rally fans?

Nice promo vid! Love the part about not sorting them........ would be a huge time drain to get them all in order and obviously kill any efficiency gained by fast printers and flatbed cutters.
  16. Opinion Name this banner material!

Thanks guys, I've passed this off to a local dye-sub printer.
  17. Opinion Name this banner material!

Any ideas regarding the material in the attached picture? Looks almost like a jersey type material. For reference, banner is 3' across in the picture. Bonus points: Any chance of getting something like this that can be solvent or UV printed, or is this generally only a dye-sub type deal...
  18. Everyone knows me as the ADA Sign Lady

Welcome from Canada, where the ADA codes are (almost) non-existent when it comes to signage. I feel like this will eventually be a great opportunity for sign companies with ADA capability once the standards catch up.
  19. concerned about solid black banners needing to gas out before mounting in banner stand Epson s80600L

Not that I'm trying to convince you to get a Mimaki UV printer, but we print our retractable banner inserts on our UCJV on PET GB 13oz banner. Works great. Ultraflex and most banner "brands" have a version of it.
  20. Customer has no idea what he wants but wants it now - Rant.

Ah, I found it! Hope Neato doesn't mind me sharing. This specifically pertains to logo design but could easily be adapted to suit vehicle wraps. Hope this helps, good luck with the difficult customer(s)! (And no, you're not the one that's in the wrong here. That customer sounds painful to...
