Time to spend 10 minutes and come up with a customer design form. I'm sure there are examples online but we filled one out when we had our logo designed. I can try to dig it up if you like, we had received it from Neato.
What do you like, colors, themes etc etc and make all fields mandatory...
Man, those are pretty cheap!
Let me know if those don't work out Chris, I might have a local contact who has some kicking around. Used to print changeable ads for them a few years back.
Not to be a smart-ass, but do you think they would rather buy Chinese equipment than Chinese materials?
On that note, to the OP, check most of the parts on your printers etc - guess what, they're also made in China.
I don't think you'll find much information here regarding manufacturing canvas.
In the same way that you buy ink from the manufacturer, you'll likely find that it makes more sense to buy pre-made canvas rolls than to re-invent the wheel and figure out how to manufacture it yourself.
Is it...
Awesome, thanks for the info!! I didn't see anything about the Omtech pro on their website, but the price point of the old/non-pro models is pretty sweet. I'll do some more research and see if this is something we should consider adding.
Thanks again for your insight. :thumb:
Some good info here. I'm starting to lean towards getting a cheap chinese laser to play/tinker with and learn the ropes at a lower entry cost.
Any brands/tips to check out/stay away from? Ideally looking to play around with laser cut acrylic letters and maybe some tactile stuff just for fun.
I'm not too concerned about accuracy, despite our ancient GBC laminator tracking pretty damn straight. This is why we still use it as our main laminator and why we have a brand new Mimaki laminator sitting in the corner, collecting dust. (Anyone wanna by a like-new, Mimaki laminator??)
A full...
Agreed, more details/effort required to make proper recommendations.
How are the signs intended to be used? Interior/exterior?
Is it just sequential numbering required on the signs or any other details?
That's more than we pay for 3220 (cast), considering exchange rate etc. Is that really going rate for a slightly better version of 210? (I haven't trusted 210 for a long time, stuff shrinks an curls like a mofo)
Yeah that's a good point. Only problem with our current set up is that we don't have a take up on this laminator, so it would have to sit much lower and cut between the 2 sets of rollers. Still might be doable though!
So this is the GBC set up....... the way they have them mounted, I have no idea how you could use them without having the extra bar installed which wouldn't work with the way we web up.
The set up/design is nice but it sits 2" too high to be useful. They also seem to use a unique blade that...
I'll try to take a picture of the factory ones on our GBC, I think I left one intact.
I pulled one of them off to reverse engineer it and now I can't put humpty dumpty back together.... :roflmao:
Has anyone added slitters to their roll laminators? I know some come with them, including our ancient GBC Titan, but for the life of me I can't figure out how we could actually make use of them the way they're mounted.
I figured I could just rig up some kind of OLFA blade on each side that's...
Yeah that little extra material isn't fun when laminating full rolls.....I've been meaning to post about adding slitters on a laminator and you just reminded me.
Assuming your cut weight is dialed in correctly, the other thing you can try is adding weed lines in your cut file.
Tried finding instructions online to no avail, but basically you just add a horizontal line through your cut file which will allow small lines of text to be weeded in 2 parts...
