I am looking for a 2nd laminator in the 50"-60" range to be used for mounting prints to mainly ACM and aluminum material. It doesn't have to be a name brand.
Any suggestions on some of the "off brand" laminators? I would like to stay under $2K.
Thanks
Larry
I am having an issue with importing various vector file that I get from Shutterstock into Corel X6. If the files are over 3-4mb corel just runs and runs then toy get the not responding message.
I called Shuttestock and they told me it was probably that it was the way the artist created the...
What do you'll use to wrap and/or put decals on the yeti cups? We are having numerous want to wrap/decal yeti cups and I have no idea what material will last the longest. I thought about sublimation, but I do not think it will work since the are not a designated sublimation product.

OMG............... I got our new hiker hand grommet press in today and all I can say is WOW. It will set grommets in acm witn one hand and very little efforts.
Thanks for directing m at way. The old off brand had press is headed to the dumpster.
Thanks for the information- maybe I just need a different hand press (hiker or stimpson).
My procedure for putting grommets in 3mm thick acm is: drill the holes, then press #2 plain grommets in place. Is there a better way? Can I use self-piercing grommets? Do I need a long neck grommet? It...
I hear you on the hand press, but there is something to be said for being old (62) and shoulders that don't work like they did 20 years ago. That's my main reason for wanting something different than a hand press, plus with something else the employees (women) would have an easier time doing...
We just got a contract to do 50 ACM signs for a local baseball league and they want 8 grommets per sign (that's 400 total). I have a hand grommet press and don't want to do that many signs with it. Any good suggestions on a foot operated and/or semi-automatic grommet press that will not break...
Like new vinyl weeder from www.weedersheeter.com
We bought it for a big contract job ad the company went under, so our loss is your gain. Asking $ 375.00 ad ship for free.
I just subscribed to the sign pricing guide and have a couple of questions.
1) we do a lot of decals for semi trucks which includes door decals along with the vin#, dot# and mc#. In using the pricing guide when you select the pick-up/semi doors under size does that pricing include these or is...
Normally we use 3165ra for all our lettering and laminate with 210. As luck would have it I ran out of the 3165ra, but I have some 3751ra on hand.
M question is can I get by with using the 210 laminate instead of the recommended 290 on the 3751 and get by with it? I am printing a large decal...
Does anyone make a rotating rack to hold multiple rolls of vinyl that could go behind a printer? What I am looking is something that could go behind our roland vs540 to hold like 3 different rolls of media and could be rotated to load which ever media you wanted to use. The 54" rolls are very...
We have 5 large signs (4’ x 10’ horizontally mounted) toletter with sponsors names for a local football booster club. The signs need tobe black with white lettering and we will use poly-metal as the substrate. Wehave a Roland VS 540 so we could do either cut vinyl letters or do a fulllaydown...
Thanks for the information and replys. I know flatbed printers are expensive, but I thought maybe I could get like a mutoh 1608 for $ 30K or less. What triggered me thinking flatbed was time- I do all the sign work after I get off my day job and the weekends and thought a flatbed might help me...
I have been researching flatbed printers trying to find a good entry level one. Currently we do 10-15 4' x 8' acm (polymetal) signs per month as our main signs and various size coroplast signs (20 a month) using our roland 540 to print the vinyl, then laminate if needed, cut, weed and mount to...
Thanks you'll. I think I will practice on a scrap piece with the knife and have my son-in-law try a router (if he screws up even more reason not to like him..lol)
Thanks
Larry
I have a 4' x 8' of acm or polymetal with a full print on it that needs one of the 8' sides trimmed 1/4" off it. The place I use with a shear says they cannot make a cut any narrower than 1". How can I trim the panel and not ruin the print?
Thanks
Larry
