Time to get after them. Once I start a warranty claim I don't sit back hoping it will get fixed. If you can't get a response by incessant pestering a concise single page letter from an attorney does wonders.;)
Tired of these a-holes that have the attitude of "we got your money, sucks to be you".
I also work on boats/yachts and the only thing you can do is a cut and buff. Sometimes you get stuff like this, it will never be perfect. We did one that was so bad we had to cover the ghosting with a partial wrap.
We called that boat the crispy critter, because it spent its entire life...
:welcome: from sunny northern Wisconsin. You sound like me. I weld for hire, do handyman work, teach at a local college etc... I often thought I should have named my business "Anything for a Buck Enterprises" :D
I don't ride Harley's though. Ducatis are in my garage but like them all.
Had the same thing a few days ago. I closed all programs, shut off the computer and did other work. Came back in 20 minutes, cranked it up and it was fine.
If you've never done it before, don't. If this is not a profit center for your business sub it out to a pro and mark it up.
On a couple jobs I worked with a friend who was a professional film installer. Holy Cow! Lots of little tricks to get it right and you won't learn those on a forum.
I'm a one man shop and have a standard shop rate. Travel is shop rate.
Only time that changes is when I work with my freelance installer then shop rate doubles.
On campus we direct print on ash plywood with matte "varnish" finish. Turns out great with no complaints.
Otherwise you can use cut vinyl or digital print. Top coat as necessary. Wood takes automotive clear coat quite well.
i don't think there are any standards as far as surface finish. At...
Start by building a support "wing" on the table then use a safety ruler positioned on the waste side and trim with an Olfa knife.
Next step would be a laminate but that may not be in the budget.
Smallest solvent printer Epson makes is the S40600 at 54 inches.
Mimaki doesn't have anything under 54 inches either.
Mutoh has a 24" but that may not work for you.

Sounds like you bought someone else's problems. If you or someone in the shop is not mechanically inclined don't mess with it. I agree with Boudica, just get a new laminator.
I have an RS and was having tracking issues. Spent hours dialing it in and it works decently again, but not like...
Nice, thank you for the information. IIRC if I make too wide of a Cutcontour line in Illustrator it will double cut.(learned that by accident) But I'm going to look into the options in Flexi. Pretty sure there's an option to set number of cuts.
Running CleanCut blades as a test right now and...
Ummm.... Not sure what they're trying to accomplish but, I wouldn't touch it without a repaint. Wouldn't take much to do a "scratch 'n' splash" with some Rustoleum industrial spray bombs.
Hmmm....didn't really think about two kiss cuts. Please enlighten me on your process. While we may run different material it will give me some insight on the process. Currently running Arlon SLX+/3220 combo.
BTW nothing fancy for cuts. All industrial labeling so squares and rectangles.
Opportunity costs. This aspect is rarely talked about and is a necessary component when deciding to lease or purchase capital goods.
Simple explanation when buying something outright. What didn't you get to get what ya got?
Leasing: In base terms will generally allow you to get something...
Another vote for Arlon SLX+. Finished a beer trailer a couple weeks ago. Went to talk to the installer. He showed several problem areas that he would fight when using 6000xrp that the SLX+ solved.
Trailer was 38' with roll up doors, full wrap and took roughly a day and a half. Amazing to...
