  1. Burned out

if your not looking for a computer program/software you might try this. i have a calendar in corel that i simply drag projects and deadlines around. kind of signvox for dummies. it's been a huge help to go to the file and get a visual picture. i don't do well with dates. ...don't know most...
  2. Encoder Strip help for a mimaki jf 1631

too short. only three or so feet left over after cutting it down for install.
  3. Banner Jet Walk-Thru + UV Ink Conversion!

that's a great idea. the work that it takes to get all this figured out is immense. there will be plenty of takers for such a kit.
  4. Banner Jet Walk-Thru + UV Ink Conversion!

there are zillions of uv led chinese printers (here's a few) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpWErVwsInk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGS-OOd6ZkE or maybe a nice Ntek (which i don't have the room for right now)...
  5. Banner Jet Walk-Thru + UV Ink Conversion!

right now, roland is flying over their special ops' ninja squad to bash your printer to pieces.
  6. Encoder Strip help for a mimaki jf 1631

on your printer, it looks like you'll have to dig a bit. mine took less than an hour off and on.
  7. Encoder Strip help for a mimaki jf 1631

right at 3/4". which leaves a couple options, if possible. the easy one is there may be an adjustment on the encoder reader and just raise it a bit to accomodate the added height. the better fitting but more of a pain way would be to razor off 3/16 off the bottom (there's really no top or...
  8. Encoder Strip help for a mimaki jf 1631

never purchased from lava ink. (have no idea which is the exact strip. ...have to ask them. digi-print supplies is a massive supplier (the site will discuss shipping in a day or so, yet my recent order finally shipped and it was placed over a week ago). how wide is your encoder strip?
  9. Encoder Strip help for a mimaki jf 1631

the one in the link (lava ink) is most likely a generic with holes punched in it (a 150lpi). the one from digi-print supplies is probably the same strip without holes punched in it (also a 150lpi).
  10. Encoder Strip help for a mimaki jf 1631

the encoder strip is totally tied to the head. if you have a head that print s 360/540/720/1440 etc you'll use a 180lpi strip. if you have a head that prints 300/600/1200 etc you will use a 150lpi encoder strip. as long as the encoder reader has that small amount of strip in it's sites...
  11. Encoder Strip help for a mimaki jf 1631

this might work there are only two types of encoder strips for printers, 150lpi and 180lpi. the differences from there are width, length, and does is conveniently come with holes in it to accommodate the gantry. i just put an encoder strip on my H700 (has toshiba CA4w heads, i believe your...
  12. CET Varnish Experiences?

the wetting out is more of a time/temp oriented thing. just like when spraying a clear, the material hits the substrate then dot gains to a mass then builds/settles and develops a meniscus. so a cool clear will wet out a bit less thus building higher to create a taller rounder meniscus...
  13. CET Varnish Experiences?

right now using a rastek with toshiba ca4 heads. could be so many things that would cause the issue. was interesting to see at the top of the thread that they are chemically different. one would think that it's just the resin without pigment. the varnish did dry out or cure clogging nozzles...
  14. CET Varnish Experiences?

had varnish on a cet fk. was so excited about it. total waste of time. i'm not sure running it daily would even do the trick. you'd thing "varnish has no pigments so it will clog the least". it clogs more than white. constant drop out. or maybe i'd call it blow out due to the fact that...
  15. Another Fume Scrubbing and or Extracting thread.

this http://www.homedepot.com/p/Web-Absorber-20-in-x-25-in-x-1-in-Odor-Control-FPR-5-Air-Filter-WABSORBFPR/100011568 and a box fan if anyone is ever in a pinch.
  16. Help!!! No magenta

magenta may be working because it was primed either manually or by the black channels cap top. these printers require about a month of experience to really get to know and predict what they do and don't do and what can cause them to stumble. of course the more you use it, the better it will...
  17. Help!!! No magenta

a simultaneous failure of both magenta ink lines (damper/line/cart) is almost impossible. pull a vacuum on both of the magenta dampers and observe the membrane of the damper. does it concave down much more aggressively than a black damper? damper membranes will always concave but they...
  18. Help!!! No magenta

is there magenta ink in the lines, or has it run back toward the carts? if you place a magenta damper on a different head (black manifold) can you pull magenta at that cap top? and if you put a black damper on a magenta manifold can you pull black at that cap top? when attempting to pull ink...
  19. Would I benefit by puttting in a SSD drive in my five year old computer?

best place for an SSD in an older machine is a scratch drive for photoshop. and or two one for scratch and one for the OS only. they don't need to be that large.
  20. Help!!! No magenta

having a bit of trouble following the chain of events. "in number order" is the best way to isolate on a thread. i'm not there watching and recording each event. one single thing out of place will point out the issue immediately. if you will, bulleted, list what does work and does not work.
