whole roll should fit into the basket no problem or let it go on the floor. Or get a takeup system. you can print without a take up reel and just let it fold up on the floor
What equipment are you using?
The most common way to do this is to print a full roll and then cut the roll on Graphtec or similar cutter or a flatbed cutter. Both cutter types are capable of automatically cutting a full roll

easy job for a flatbed cutter. Pretty easy manually if you have a keencut or similar.
Straight edge and box cutter also works, don't rush and you'll get a nice cut. Panel in illustrator/corel and add the marks you'll need if not sure about how to do it in onyx
I'm printing labels on Colorado 1650 and cutting with Graphtec or flatbed , can easily compete on price with afinia systems because media 60" is so cheap
Was trying to figure out how to do roll labels efficiently and found this, ended up getting a laminator with the same slitters and I think it...

I remember seeing a Graphtec tint bundle that came with the antistatic kit
also material batches can vary in white point. One material I use I have to pay attention to batch and roll number and use the rolls in numerical order to ensure no variation in wallpaper panels.
learned this the hard way when some some reprinted wallpaper panels were just slightly...
in this video you can see how it's made
whole back is covered with vinyl, flip the hinge and cover with another color vinyl
would be easy to knock out on a flatbed laminator
I'll be mostly using the knife slitters to slit rolls of labels, seems to work just like label slitters except much wider
I'll also try rigging a miter saw with toothless blade for chopping whole rolls.
I think it will be great, I might actually go with the full laminator version and have them add the 12 slitters. The laminator version is only 1k more and I know it will be a great laminator because it is the same one Colex sells/rebrands.
Making decision today, $900 slitter only or $1800...
