I really enjoy the trade shows as I like to see the products/machines in person. Touch, feel and see it in action….it’s much different than seeing pictures and videos on line.
It is also fun to catch up with old friends and vendors. But I feel like that also causes issues. I go mainly to...
Yes…corrugated is our largest product. We print a lot of materials but corrugated is the lions share.
we do a large acrylic job every quarter and the Trufire has made our life so much easier. Used to be a screen printed product that we are now able to shift to digital with speed if the Trufire.
We don’t clean any of our sheets…at most wipe the dust off and let print. Ink adhesion from Digitech is stronger than any others I have seen. VHB tape will not pull the ink off corrugated. Very impressive.
Cant say who it’s for but I can tell you the demand is there. We are not printing jobs like this all the time, but when they come up…you have to be able to play ball. Which is the exact reason we invested in Digitech…they are twice the speed of everything else in their price range. You would...
Yes, we run primarily 3 pass on everything. Sometimes we have to drop to 5 pass but that all depends on the job/customer.
White all depends on the application. We range any where from 5 pass to 9 pass with different densities.
I agree 100%. If you are not running the auto unloader you are really missing out. We ran 5000 4x8s in just over 2 weeks. I could not imagine having to load and unload all of those. It takes a good bit of work off your operator and it pushes them to keep the machine fed.
I don’t know of...
Good points but that is a lot of unnecessary steps just to cure your ink. How about they make a ink that cures well and don’t flood the market with bad batches (that we have all received). Made a lot of money of their machines but have also lost a TON due to their bad practices and ignoring...
I would also recommend Digitech. Have had our X2 right at a year now. No major issues and have been very happy. If adhesion is important, look no further. Digitech has by far the best adhesion in the industry. Not to mention, they check all the other boxes on your list as well. If you...
Add Digitech to your list. Speed, quality, adhesion and service are unmatchable. Been running ours almost a year now and couldn’t be happier. We run the same materials mentioned flawlessly.
Just ran 150k square foot job in under 3 weeks and it was a breeze. At 3200 square feet an hour...
Most flatbed printers need digital grade (more expensive) acrylic for their inks to stick - and even some of them will still need a adhesion promoter.
We run your standard acrylic with no promoters and get excellent adhesion. Their inks are as good as your gonna get (in my opinion) for...
Have had our Digitech X2 about 9 months now. Have not tried it on glass but we print a bunch of acrylic and other substrates. About to start a run of 2500 pieces that we do every quarter. It’s non digital grade and their inks require no primers or adhesion promoters. Pretty incredible.
I...
Yes…advertised speeds and true production speeds are totally different. Lots of companies out there quoting high production speeds and results at that speed are unsellable (or unachievable). Firesprint is exactly right….see it for yourself. Only you know what is acceptable speed/quality...
I have no experience running either one of those but I will throw Digitech into the hat of the more “less expensive” presses. We run ours two shifts at a steady 50 boards an hour. Great quality, color and adhesion. True flatbed so registration is spot on front/back.
I would imagine you...
That’s exciting to hear. We had a few hiccups in the begging as well but it was mostly due to learning the exact settings we needed. We are not a large shop either and cover a lot of different markets. We are in the middle of a 150k square foot job that we will have done in less than 3 weeks...
Digitech had some delays earlier in the year on their white but seems to be resolved. Just had 250 liters of ink delivered yesterday so they seem to be in good shape.
Also, not really sure why stratojet and Digitech are in the same category. Same for a lot of the other printers mentioned. We are running true speeds of 50 boards an hour including load/unload times. The is real sellable quality with vibrant color.
Are there any other printers in this...
I am curious to know as well. This sounds very suspect…..
Digitech machines are incredibly reliable and extremely easy to work on. If his machine is constantly broken, I think there is more to the story. They don’t price gouge like most other OEMs which would make it almost difficult to be...
