  1. Free Stuff For Y'all

Here's a 53ft Trailer template, with side doors and swing rear doors. 10% scale.
  2. lamination

I was talking about laminating printed vinyl. We use 3M 180c and 8518/8519 primarily, so it may not work with other brands, but it works on these if you do it right away.
  3. lamination

On most laminates it takes a few minutes for the glue to really "set". So, if it is a single panel job like this you can get it off the laminator quickly and onto your production table and yank the laminate back off before it sets up. We've had to do this with pieces that get a wrinkle or other...
  4. Upgrading to Latex or Solvent inks.

They definitely waste way less material. They don't run through a lot of ink sitting idle and do a good job of keeping their selves clean. You do have to do a bit of manual cleaning every couple weeks but it is quick and easy. (10 minutes) You can laminate just a few hours after printing also if...
  5. What causing these Reflective printed stripe peeling, only where they are hand-cut

It is the vinyl. Oracal reflective does NOT like curves at all. I used it for years at a previous sign shop and we always fought this. I went to another shop that used 3M 280 series reflective and have never had this issue since.
  6. Upgrading to Latex or Solvent inks.

Get a print sample from an Epson 40600, ours all print amazingly (ours are 60600 but same heads/gamut). We print on all different types of materials; wrap vinyl, canvas, banner, coated papers, etc, etc. Get a good rep and have them send you samples. Yes, a latex is always going to be grainy...
  7. Anyone else noticed very premature laminate failures with turning black etc lately?

We have used 8508 for many years for fleet (box truck) graphics without issue. Usually we use 8519, but we have a couple large fleets that wanted a cheaper combo and have had no issues from it.
  8. Anyone else noticed very premature laminate failures with turning black etc lately?

It is the laminate failing, been discussed many times: https://www.signs101.com/threads/laminate-failure.154904/ https://www.signs101.com/threads/laminate-turning-brown.145117/
  9. No Cast Wrap Film?

The 3M guys were in our shop yesterday with news that supply levels are still gonna be iffy over the next YEAR probably as long as certain resins are in short supply. Supposedly next year they'll have another production line going in Europe, so that'll take the load off their US plant some. They...
  10. Need Help Epson S80600 pausing while printing

We get this same issue intermittently. Still can't figure it out. We are now in a new building with brand new network/cables/etc. It does seem to do it more when the RIP que has more in it, but we see it just as much on little bitty jobs as we do on big wrap prints. Seems to happen less often...
  11. Outdoor removeable and reusable

What about cheap banner material without hems, then put some velcro on the back/machine? Easy on/off.
  12. Need some extension cord ideas

We have 25ft or so ceilings in our building so it is problematic to get our plotters to operate off the RIP and not have cords all over the floor. We took some conduit pipe and hung it about 8ft off the floor from guy wires. Then we just ziptied the wires to it from the PC/network/power to the...
  13. Can you decode this logo?

    Sad cyclops?
  14. Question Pad/Stud Mounts on Acrylic Letters

Wait, are you cutting the letters or Gemini? If Gemini, they'll plan your studs, at least I thought they always used to do that for us before we got our own CNC? If you're cutting the letters yourself, just make a separate cut that only drills halfway into the letters before you run the cut that...
  15. WTF FLEXI?

Check the CSV file itself also, or try an older know good CSV file.
  16. printing on chrome

We have printed solvent onto Avery Chrome Wrap (remove the protective film obviously) and it looked good. We also print on other chrome specialty vinyls with our Edge.
  17. Onyx Thrive/Cut Server with Multiple Graphtec FC9000s

You might have to call Onyx through your service agreement and see if they can help. I'd bet you're not going to be able to accomplish this though. Onyx/Graphtec are hard to get to work together, took us 3 months to get them to make cut-server work correctly for us here to just do simple roll to...
  18. Print-Cut Graphics on a Rock and Roll Crate?

We use Arlon DPF8000 for LSE Plastics. It does shrink a little, but it sticks down.
  19. XC 540 Tool carriage separates from head carriage

I am pretty sure you can flip the encoder strip over on your machine also while you wait on a replacement strip. The end at the capping station you will have to put a hole in the other side to re-mount it flipped, but otherwise it is pretty simple. After you clean/flip/replace the strip you have...
  20. HP Removable Adhesive Fabric for Interior Walls

We like to use Phototex here, it is a good quality product.
