  1. Need Help Help with resolution

125 PPI for regular wraps, you can get away with 75 PPI sometimes on bus/trailer, but I prefer 100 PPI for those. I always work/view at full scale prior to production, but some larger wholesalers just print and don't check for issues.
  2. need a super vivid mirror chrome vinyl

We have used cut Avery chrome wrap vinyl for cut chrome lettering on trucks with good longevity. One thing I would recommend is to encapsulate the chrome with laminate (1/8" all around) to improve longevity and UV resistance. A good cast Gloss laminate will improve the shine and hide some of the...
  3. Best Solvent Printer for Outdoor Durability?

As noted above - If you are concerned about longevity, you should only consider a 3M MCS warranted printer/inks. You will have to run the MCS inks and use 3M materials for the warranty to be enforced, but any quality material will definitely last and the inks will last on them. Do NOT get a...
  4. JPEGs turning black

I've been using a free program called JPEGview for a while now, the "photos" app has been too glitchy for me, but even it acts up. I randomly get the same (inverting colors?) issue viewing JPEGS with the Photos app myself.
  5. Powersports Templates

For vehicles with as complicated of surfaces as these, 2D drawings / schematics are completely useless.
  6. media comp grey lines not straight?

In this case it could be the plotter's accuracy affecting the final product in addition to the printer's size accuracy. They have their own X/Y calibration adjustments similar to the printer.
  7. Powersports Templates

We don't do that many, so when I need one - I make it myself, the bulk of our work is commercial wraps. The only couple places that I trust for templates are ProVehicleOutlines and TheBlueprints, but neither of them specialize in templates like these.
  8. Gerber Omega saves pdf with white outline

I've found that almost all files saved out of Omega to be printed through another process (like wide format) need to be ran through Illustrator to fix all of the issues. We have one customer that only has a Gerber and we do their wide format printing for them, it can be a real pain redoing the...
  9. Need help selecting car wrap material/lam

I would definitely see what all is involved in "printing" these wraps for the customer before you price it to them. I would base it off of the square footage as far as "printing" goes, but usually there is some setup/art time involved unless they have a good designer on staff so price that...
  10. Need help selecting car wrap material/lam

Call Grimco if Fellers doesn't say they have it in stock. They had around 140 rolls yesterday in stock of 3M IJ180c. Right now, everyone is "out of stock" but it comes in in a week or so. We order 10 rolls of each at a time just to keep a couple extra in stock, unless it's a big order. The end...
  11. Question Gfp 363TH slitter option? laminate overhang

When we get overhang on an edge and it might be a problem one of the operators just sit behind the machine by the take-up reel with an exacto and trim it off as it feeds through. (before it is wound up)
  12. Material Suggestions

180c (or 480 if you can get it) with 8520 would be my go-to on a mural with heavy traffic like this. It'll stay, but getting it off later...
  13. Epson S60600 Ink Odor?

They all smell, you're just accustomed to the smell of your printers' inks. After a couple days you wont notice the Epson's smell anymore either. The Eco-solvent are definitely less potent that full solvents.
  14. Epson S40600 banding

Check the media profile on the printer itself. Then recalibrate the media feed within that. Running 4-pass you HAVE to have that spot on or you'll see banding.
  15. One clogged head? Roland sp540v

I may be wrong, but I believe you damaged your Magenta head pushing/puling too much through them when you had the last problem, now you're getting overspray on that channel. I think that issue was a bad pump or cap seal; these printers don't have pressure in the lines, just suction from the...
  16. Printing on back of decal

At a printing company I once worked at we purchased a custom rubber stamp to stamp the (back) liner on decals with. Worked well enough.
  17. Need Help Dogbone Issues on Rounded Corners

It isn't just your corners, your "straight lines" aren't straight either. Looks like something is wobbly/loose in the machine.
  18. Free Stuff For Y'all

Yet another fire truck, this one is an old Sutphen truck. 1/10 scale.
  19. Need Help Mimaki S80600 leaking ink

Call in Decision1 if you can't find the source of the leak yourself. I'd bet it is the damper unit on top of the print heads.
  20. Question Upgrade for Epson S80600

The S60 smell is going to be very comparable to your current Roland. Resin/Latex printers require a much more stable climate controlled environment, and put off a lot of heat and a different type of smell from it heating the vinyl.
