  1. Strange vertical pattern on prints - Oce Arizona

Thanks for the tip. I'll try re-ripping the file. No chance for gloss banding when printing sub-surface of clear media. I use the same or just CMYK-White-White —Depends on application.
  2. Strange vertical pattern on prints - Oce Arizona

257 inks. I'm using 460xt. I've got an i1pro2 with easy media access (Caldera) as well as x-rite's i1profiler. I've experimented, probably more than I should, with custom profiling. I've tested Ink limits, linearization limits, Black point start, GCR vs UCR, x-rite vs Caldera profiling, Lamp...
  3. Strange vertical pattern on prints - Oce Arizona

Here's acrylic, with all the same settings. Looks as it should
  4. Strange vertical pattern on prints - Oce Arizona

If I rotate 90 or 180 degrees the lines still appear in the gradients. It's mainly my fine art profile. For the time being, I've just switched back to quality mode, which I've only had the problem appear once before with that mode/profile. The photo has adequate pixels for small size 28x21cm...
  5. Strange vertical pattern on prints - Oce Arizona

Size of printout was 28x21cm, so quite small. I've done full sheets without a problem so I think I can rule out ink starvation. Tested with interpass delay of 1 second —made no difference. Doesn't take very long for ink reservoir to fill up either. Pure CMYK printed nicely. I ended up...
  6. Strange vertical pattern on prints - Oce Arizona

No pause button showed up for me on screen, Maybe Tech disabled it? However pushing black start button (next to vacuum gauge) did work. I reprinted and paused halfway through —It may have marginally helped. I used the same print file as seen in my original post and from the original photo you...
  7. Strange vertical pattern on prints - Oce Arizona

I've done head alignment very recently. Scanner alignment was done by canon tech last Spring. Is it reasonable to have scanner alignment done once a year, or what is to be expected? Thanks for the tip, Unfortunately I cannot pause printouts on Oce Arizona. Forward/Reverse/Bi-Direction doesn't...
  8. Strange vertical pattern on prints - Oce Arizona

Looking for advice to identify what's causing this. I'm periodically getting strange vertical patterns on printouts, mostly noticeable in gradients on Alu-dibond. Problem comes and goes. More common with certain profiles but not exclusive to any one. Tried changing various Caldera RIP...
  9. Oce Arizona Printhead Temperature over 200 celcius

Technician opened the printhead and it was pretty worn looking and had to be replaced. Housing interior looked as if it had been stripped. He was thinking it may be from my previous inks (Marabu), which were quite hard on printheads. I'd regularly used flush so maybe that contributed as well...
  10. Oce Arizona Printhead Temperature over 200 celcius

Technician came to level my printbed. We'd removed the magnetic table top and he spent the better part of a day tweaking the table and measuring with a dial indicator. I went to print the next day and had two adjacent nozzles out on black that cannot be cleared. Technician came and then found...
  11. UV Printing on DiBond

I never clean the panel before printing with any chemical. Only use an anti-static brush to remove any debris. If I try to use 99% isopropyl alcohol, it will leave streaking marks on the surface, no matter how thorough I am. I'm using Oce Arizona 257 inks. When I used Marabu inks (more...
  12. can i use Onyx 10 / 12.2 with X-rite Photo pro 3

We have the same experience, except with Caldera. i1profiler seems to read patches better as well with less errors
  13. Need Help ICC profile for subsurface printing

Any clear material that thin will give very similar measurement readouts. The thicker the material, the darker (and less accurate) your measurements will be. Regardless, I've never had good results from doing this. I'm guessing one of your first surface profiles (maybe glossy paper) will be a...
  14. Need Help ICC profile for subsurface printing

Your getting bad results due to light refraction from your material. What you think you're measuring isn't going to be properly reflected back to you through your material. I've tested subsurface glass/acrylic of various thickness and accuracy is directly proportional to thickness. So as...
  15. Canon Pro-6000 & Onyx Thrive

How do your custom profiles compare to Canon's canned profiles? RGB or CMYK mode? I've Tried making my own in Caldera for our Pro-4000, but results were worse. I'm thinking because I don't have a license for RGB profiling, my results weren't as good. Also using older version of i1 Pro.
  16. Need help color calibrating with Caldera

What's the name of the test target you are outputting? You should be able to select device, in your case, i1pro2, and target size should match your device when scale is left at 100% Maybe something wrong with your file structure where Caldera is outputting icon and not .tif file? Worst case...
  17. Need Help Oce ink bags being rejected.

I'm having issues with what seems like RFID board. I keep getting "not available" for bag status, which happens with C, M, and K channels. Status will change to "not present" when I remove the inks, as normal. Canon already sent me replacement ink but that had no effect. Anyone else have such...
  18. CET Flatbed gloss banding issues

This solved my problem and actually made my shadows a bit richer, maybe due to dot gain? I'd previously tried this but with opposite lamps (lead lamp on and trail lamp off), with no success. Glad I retested this.
  19. Caldera RIP and iPFx400 printers?

Maybe it's only available with Mirage RIP? We are planning to buy IPF 4000, which has the option for Mirage RIP for 450€. How do you like Caldera paired with your IPF, other than this problem? We already run Caldera with our Arizona so it seemed logical to keep same RIP, but was thinking...
  20. Marabu Inks

I'd agree with your general criticism, particularly weak blacks, but saying the inks smell "horribly strong" is hyperbole. It does have more smell than 257-series but I don't consider it horrible. Ask Marabu to print some samples for you to see for yourself. Maybe Lipla is willing to do the same?
