  1. White Ink - OEM vs Lipla vs Nazdar

I'd 2nd this. Purging white doesn't always bring full nozzles back but if I print a white swatch I've got a better chance of getting full nozzles recovered than I would just purging. I use #6 droplet in express mode and do two rounds and that almost always does the trick. If white isn't...
  2. Strange vertical pattern on prints - Oce Arizona

Then the parameters would look like this from the profile creation/Easymedia stage? I do have a magnetic dial gauge but haven't bothered with checking the levelness. I guess I already know it's not level just from printing and carriage platten grazing the edge of media at the low points such...
  3. Strange vertical pattern on prints - Oce Arizona

Good tip. My only concern is that this will alter the color profile unless you were to make your profile with custom parameters and the smallest droplet size deactivated as a workaround. I bought it used in 2018 and had 258 Marabu inks installed. I really didn't like that inkset (lost 2...
  4. Mounting acrylic UV print to aluminum

12 micron polyester film. 3M or Orafol both work equally. It's a very forgiving method and low failure rate. The bond between the ink and acrylic will be the weak point as opposed to the bond between the tape and ink or the bond between tape and backing. Keep your ink limits low and also use a...
  5. Mounting acrylic UV print to aluminum

I'm in Europe, so my main options are Neobond and the original 3A composites. As a backing, it doesn't make any noticeable difference in terms of adhesion—maybe 3A cuts are marginally cleaner.
  6. Mounting acrylic UV print to aluminum

I place the tape around the edge and also vertical strips spaced 10-20cm apart depending on size. Multiple shorter strips of tape (<50cm) are going to make a stronger bond than long full-length strips.
  7. Mounting acrylic UV print to aluminum

It's easier and cheaper to just apply tape than mess with a laminator, at least for my setup. Since I already use white ink the application to the board doesn't have to be perfect. I've been using this method for 7 years now and have never had a delaminated print. Another key is to use a...
  8. Mounting acrylic UV print to aluminum

Orabond 1397PP is what I use, but you need to use white ink so the tape doesn't show.
  9. 257 inkset profiles

You can't make your own? Even a cheap used Spectro will give better results than canned profiles.
  10. Oce Arizona Fixed drop size

I've tested this in Caldera, but if you customize the droplets within an existing profile, it will not be accurate. If you only use 7pl droplet, the image will print extremely light. You would need to make your own custom profile and max out the ink limit, to compensate for such small ink...
  11. Smooth Grays ?

Is there a way to align head height so that Bi-dir is printing more accurately? A quick workaround is to print in Uni-dir and if there is a major difference, then your head height is out of alignment. Also, don't print pure black; Rich black will look smoother.
  12. Delamination of ink on acrylic

I use "Iris glass primer" and I get perfect results on both glass and acrylic. I don't need to pre-clean the sheet with alcohol, which as others have suggested is not very good for the acrylic. If you're already hand-cleaning the acrylic, you might as well just hand-apply a different primer...
  13. CET K2-1000L flatbed with intermittent banding issues and nozzle fallout

It looks like each pass is producing a gradient in itself. I've had similar issues with my Arizona in the past and resolved it by doing the following: 1) Change lamps settings. For me, only running trail lamps on high solved this. 2) Change RIP settings, Such as, 16-bit rendering...
  14. poor quality oce arizona

I've moved my static bar higher to accommodate acoustic board printing and never thought it made a difference even when printing on static-prone materials.
  15. Best way to cut Maxmetal, E-panel, DiBond ACM?

I use a panel saw but I'm considering purchasing a Keencut for cleaner edge finish, eliminate debris and changing of the blades. I've heard the downside of Keencut is "edge curl", but I've also seen they've introduced a new composite head that will reduce this quite a bit. Would anyone cut...
  16. Software Help ONYX steps creating ICC

I'm continually baffled how this isn't standard practice for all print operators, especially when dealing with specific brand colors.
  17. Printing White Under CMYK

See my screenshot. Use the adjust option to reduce White. It will take the border of where-ever you are printing white and reduce it. Even -0,1mm is adequate for white underlay for text.
  18. Ink Heat System Error - Oce 360XT

It's a public forum for troubleshooting, not like he sent private DM. As long as the oce 360, and similar models, are being sold, it's highly relevant.
  19. it is not all about dpi

Photoshop 2021 has a new feature called "super resolution" which is supposed to be a major improvement from their previous resampling software —Might be worth checking out. What RIP are you using? I find Caldera does a fairly good job in resampling. Although, I find resampling improvements are...
  20. it is not all about dpi

A common misnomer, but by DPI (dots per inch) you mean PPI (pixels per inch). Dots refer to printer droplets and not pixels. By itself DPI doesn't really necessarily mean much in terms of quality. Pixels are an indication of quality, but certainly not absolute. PPI, on the other hand, refers...
