  1. Anyone have trouble contacting Merritt?

Glad most of you all have had good experiences with Merritt, but we ran into the same issues as the OP. If I am not mistaken, this is not the first thread about poor response time from this company. I am not about to twist somebodies arm to give them business and I am sure they don't need it...
  2. Best Flatbed?

    Nicely done!
  3. L25500 and Cutting on a FC8000

This right here is bull s$!t. Would I have been told you have to redraw, scratch, put tape over it and turn the lights off, etc. to get it to read; I never would have bought the damn thing. Don't get me wrong, the thing does work sometimes but it also doens't work a lot of the time. Great if...
  4. L25500 and Cutting on a FC8000

I have no experience with the HP, but we own a FC8000 and it is a nightmare. By far the most finicky piece of equipment we have ever bought. Sometimes it will work great for a couple of hours and then just completely stop. Good luck trying to get it to read cut marks on glossy material and...
  5. Anyone who is interested

This is the problem with this industry. The barriers to enter the market have been lowered each year. I remember when we bought our first two digital printers (Arizona 180s) over 10 years ago and they cost roughly $65k each. Now you can get practically get the same machine for $15k. Who...
  6. Anyone who is interested

    My exact thoughts.
  7. Anyone who is interested

People are just giving these things away.
  8. Election Sign $$

We compete head to head with Bush signs on a lot of Tennessee political jobs. Pat is correct, political is extremely competitive with thin margins. Unless you are a screen printer (or subbing to a screen printer) you will not be competitive.
  9. Gandi 3150x2 color shift

We outsource some flatbed printing to a company that runs a Gandi flatbed and the color has been different ever single time and no where near the specified PMS color. I guess it may be a common problem with the machine.
  10. CET COLOR X-Press FK512 flatbed.. thoughts?

10sacer: are you running their router as well? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
  11. GS6000 Color profiling

What are you Alabama guys doing prining Tennesse orange?
  12. Hello from Omni

Welcome! Your company sounds very similar to ours. We are non-textile screen printers with a digital department. Looking to get into the flatbed market in the near future as well.
  13. Quick video of our shop

Took this video the other day while we were running a couple political jobs. The video should be the most recent post. http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Parrott-Printing-Inc/117991951609977
  14. Screen printed sign help

We print this stuff by the skid. Very durable, but will yellow over time.
  15. new UV flatbed

Haven't seen the Roland in person, but it seems way over priced for what it is (I could be wrong). Looks like they added roller tables on both ends of their roll to roll and reduced the speed. I was completely under whelmed when they released the pictures and specs.
  16. Epson gs6000 acting like a ....

If your supplier doesn't even know what the material is, I sure as hell wouldn't put it on my printer. Stick with a reputable manufacturer and you should be ok. Like Dice says, "fire and forget".
  17. Attn Sewers: lockstitch vs. chainstitch

We are getting ready to purchase a sewing machine so that we can finish our banners in house. Our question is, which process is better: lockstitch or chainstitch? What I have gathered so far: Lockstitch: Juki LH 3578 Pros: More durable, sews monofilament thread better and can sew in...
  18. Computer power nd GS6000

This is what you need to do. When we updated our Colorburst it eliminated the pausing issues and allowed for faster printing. We eventually reverted back to the older Colorburst because of a loss of print quality. After we updated, it almost looked like we were printing in CMYK instead of...

Did you go with the FB700?
  20. Anyone using HP latex printers for wraps?
