  1. Need Help Rectangles are bowed when cut.

I am using Mimaki JV150-160 Eco solvent inks. Orafol 5650RA media with gloss lam. The thing here is that I drew a perfect rectangle in both SignLab and Adobe Illy. But the rectangle is being cut with a slight arc. The cutter is actually moving the vinyl to cut an arc. I know reflective...
  2. Need Help Rectangles are bowed when cut.

    No worries.
  3. Need Help Rectangles are bowed when cut.

No. As I said in the post, the main Gold knurled drive roller is rotating meaning that an arc is being cut when it should be a straight line. Rubber pinch wheels are clean and this is not the problem. Basically the Summa is interpreting an arc for a straight horizontal line. Thanks for your...
  4. Need Help Rectangles are bowed when cut.

I have a Summa S2T160 and Signlab 10. I printed a few rectangles 2" x 48" with a 1/4" black border. The rectangles are lengthwise going across the cutter, parallel to the cutter. All crops marks are read fine. When cutting the long lines of the rectangle, it cuts a slight arch on both top...
  5. Summa S2 T160 cutting skewing

To put a roller in each slot would come to $1800.00 I think I'll try it one roller at a time to see where it will run true.
  6. Summa S2 T160 cutting skewing

Just my two cents here but if they help to cut reflective, why aren't they included? They provide a special 60 deg. blade because reflective is thicker, then spare pinch wheels should be included to help keep the heavier media running straight and true so it can be cut. I will figure this...
  7. Summa S2 T160 cutting skewing

Cutter pressure depth was 160g then brought it down to 140g to reduce drag. Acceleration was brought down to .5gs, velocity down to 8 in/sec. The 60 degree blade was also used and it's brand new. The vinyl is also lined up in the machine to reduce any skewing due to the 80" length.
  8. Summa S2 T160 cutting skewing

Good Good point on the media select kit. Yes they are pricey, but the cutter needs it to cut the heavy materials. Are these dummy pinch rollers or are they like the ones on the far left and far right that have two pressure settings?
  9. Summa S2 T160 cutting skewing

I recently purchased a Summa S2 T160 1 month ago. Been very pleased so far. Today I had some striping to cut. It's an 8" wide stripe by 76" long with two 1.5" wide stripes one on each side of the 8" stripe. Stripes are printed with a 1/4" black pinstripe. Material is 3M IJ680CR and a gloss...
  10. Mimaki 400mm square cut test

I have a barely used Mimaki CG130SRlll (1.5 yrs old) that is cutting way off when doing contour cutting. I stumbled upon this 400mm square test cut and wanted to know if there is any info I could receive from anyone that could help me with this. It cuts the first decals fine, but gets...
  11. Mimaki CG130SR3 not reading intermediate crop marks in SL10

I recently purchased SL10. Setting up ques in VPM. I have my Mimaki cutter set up to read registration marks in Signlab printed in VPM. The cutter will only read 3. 1,2 then the top right for the third one. It will not read segmented crop marks. Now, I removed the segmented crop marks and...
  12. Mimaki CG SR3 Segmented crop mark detection

I finally figured it out. Mimaki USA didn't come thru. After two weeks and a Mimaki tech from Canada, I found out that your crop mark detection on the plotter can be set to any of the 1, 2A, 2B, or 3. But NOT 4 for the crop mark detection. Once set, it will work fine.
  13. Mimaki intermediate mark problems

    I feel your pain....
  14. Mimaki intermediate mark problems

You cannot add marks in Rasterlink when you are using a CGSR3. Making marks in Rasterlink will only be read if you have a CJV150. The problem is you need to draw a rectangle to make your crop marks. This really doesn't make any sense at all because you cannot duplicate the same crop mark setup...
  15. Mimaki intermediate mark problems

I am having the same issue. It really has nothing to do with thicker marks or filled in. It has to do with the cutter not knowing it's looking for intermediate crop marks. You'd think that because you made the crop mark in Finecut8 That this info would be sent to the cutter and the cutter...
  16. What sign software does everyone use?

    Signlab 10, Omega 6.0, Illy CS4 Rasterlink 6
  17. Mimaki CG SR3 Segmented crop mark detection

I have a new Mimaki CG SR3 cutter and Mimaki Fine cut 8. Fine cut 8 states a new Intermediate crop mark also known as The Segment Correction Function. I can create the intermediate crops marks fine, but how do I get my cutter to detect them??? The cutter only wants to look for 4 standard...
  18. Buying a Laminator in 2 Days. Which one?

You don't need a sled. Place the film under the roller in up position, place vinyl thru, and clamp top roller onto graphic and start laminating.
  19. Reflective Lettering Lifting

5600 is a very good reflective. Hard to install over indentations in fenders, and pretac is a nightmare. But it sticks. Problem here, I see, is cheap laminate over excellent film. The laminate would fail before the reflective does. I don't use the Edge sealer pen. Does not apply enough...
  20. Crop Marks on Reflective

Not reading crop marks on reflective. I have the same problem. Called my vendor who I bought the printer from, (Mimaki CJV 130) and because I didn't buy their reflective vinyl they couldn't help me due to differences in reflectivity. Hmmm. I do know the real reason behind this. Now...
