If they have not been exposed they should wash out with water and pressure sprayer. If they have, emulsion remover and pressure washer should do the trick. If they have any ink in them that thinner will not remove or if there is a ghost image haze remover should be in the mix.

It usually means that your plot is out of the range of plotter settings. For example your plot is 29.7" width and machine is at 29.6" And I'm hardly a new member. been here for years.

Is it possible you were running windows 10 in 32 bit just for the software? When I had my pc built with win seven I was told I could do that in 10 somehow for my older version of SL, 8.1 like you. As it is just a pc for work station I opted for probably the very last dell ever built with 7 lol...

Is your dongle for 32 or 64 bit machine? I am running 8.1 and had the pc it is running on built with windows 7 just for that reason.

Instead of compound try glaze. It comes in varying degrees of abrasive. get the roughest you can and wail away at it for a bit.
