  1. Customers are so ignorant...

OH Man! Just finished on the phone with a lady who wanted 15 yard signs....today for an estate sale this weekend. Sent me the layout in a pdf. She also said she had old campaign signs to put them on. I went through the hoops of how many business days it would take, printing on decals to put on...
  2. What would you guys add (or remove) from this wrap install kit?

The NT Cutter is rounder than the olfa...but it's not going to compete with the exacto in your hand as far as your acquired muscle memory.
  3. What would you guys add (or remove) from this wrap install kit?

I understand the control and sharp angle. That's why using the 30 Degree blade is worth the extra cost. Highly recommend trying the 30 degree blades in the breakaway NT Cutter. There are so many reasons to use that knife over the olfa knife. Trust me...try one.
  4. What would you guys add (or remove) from this wrap install kit?

I was doing that but it kept breaking...even with Spider Wire. Maybe I need a gauge for catching Wales.
  5. What would you guys add (or remove) from this wrap install kit?

Swap Wrap Cut with Knifeless Tech System's tape. Swap Sealit Pen with Edge Lam. IR Gun combined with Torch...lol. Geek Wrap squeegee is too stiff and the buffer wears out too fast. Get a lidco Teflon Squeegee and add your own changeable buffers. Get a medium and soft squeegee with buffers as...
  6. 3M180C V3...sooo much more aggressive now...

So I almost always order V1 when I order 3M because I don't care for the way the V3 egresses in those skinny channels rather than evenly. I've never had a complaint by customers for the grid pattern being slightly visible at 3 feet. Fellers sent me a kit of V3 by mistake I guess and I just went...
  7. Opinion on Arlon Wrap Material

And then there is Avery which has even LESS initial tack as 3M.
  8. Thoughts on my logo? Thoughts on the name?

Don't like it. Lacks creativity and originality if your are veering away from a geographical theme. Blue dog logo didn't even have any blue in it. Tell the truth...you found a domain available that seemed like a good one for branding?
  9. Fair or unfair?

If you have written (email) proof they stated it was "exactly the same" then that would be the same as them approving the proof. You then have provided goods and services for which you are legally entitled monetary compensation for rendering what they ordered. The problem was when you chose to...
  10. Matching a vehicle color?

Yep...and also even if outside...the color looks completely different if it's in the shade vs direct sunlight due to the metal flake in the paint.
  11. Don't bother if you're married to OEM Ink

I didn't see Solaris ink comparison stats. From experience...I've been running Solaris through my printer WITHOUT any start up cost to switch from OEM and not all the problems that supposedly all the 3rd party inks cause. I do save around $55 per cartridge. Great Color, life expectancy seems to...
  12. Don't bother if you're married to OEM Ink

LOL I only saw 2 compared in stats.
  13. What do you think it takes............................

Saw this post awhile back...bought this product...it works better than the rest. (Careful on some paint). It doesn't work quite as magically as you described...but still better than the rest. Thanks.
  14. Shop Van Wrap Critiques

I would actually tilt it a little more than originally. Either tilt like you meant it...or don't tilt it at all. The tilt of text grabs the human eye more than non tilt because it's not Natural for words to be angled.
  15. Questions for Those Who Have Latex Printers

    1. When outgassed properly, and laminated...I've never had a single customer mention anything about a smell. 2. Roland can sit for that amount of time without "gumming up" because they have auto clean features. But...no curing time would be nice...I don't think an HP is more "eco friendly"...
  16. List of eco solvent printers anything other than roland, mimaki, mutoh?

You may find an older Mutoh Outdoor Jr. Rockhopper (38") for your budget. Assuming it doesn't need new parts and you can get the deposit from the job to pay for the initial set of inks and vinyls...you absolutely don't want to listen to anyone on here that is advocating doing wraps without...
  17. New member, Orange County CA

Dave, Welcome from former South O.C. now Central KY Dave. I used to work at 3D signs a looong time ago. I miss the beach. Not the traffic, wildfires, smog, gangs, high prices, traffic, ...did I mention the traffic?
  18. Snark-Free Response Forum

It's "negativity", not negative. Ugh...I wish people would learn proper grammar. ;)
  19. What do you think it takes............................

Emblem removal cleaning can take 10 minutes sometimes or 30 minutes sometimes...per emblem. If it's a van that was wrapped previously and they went all Picasso with the Primer...all day to clean. But by myself...if I've had coffee, I can do a Ford or Chevy Van in an hour. If the emblems don't...
  20. Corel Draw to Versawork and VP 540i

I run Corel to Versaworks and use Premium Wrap Vinyl profile every time for Avery and 3M. Never have too much saturation.
