We have work orders. 3 color orders - Pink (Control copy, follows the sales order / pick ticket) Green - Substrates... IE to the CNC or Table saw, And White - Digital print.
I hate the system and I've been looking into others.
Got an E-mail from Onyx about them coming out with a solution...
You guys cut .080 with a skillsaw / jigsaw? Thats got to have rough edges!
You just need the aluminum and you're going to print / apply yourself? If you can't find someone...shoot me a message, since it's a one off I'll do it for shipping cost. I am in Canada though, so it'd take a week... A...
We do a lot of golf sponsorships. We just got one on Friday where they needed the signs printed by end of day monday, about 70 signs. We told them as long as they get them to us first thing Monday morning they can have them by the end of the day.
Here comes 70 individual files, set up 24 by 36...
Cut lines are the worst because graphics designers rarely ever have to use them. We have three in-house designers and they still screw up on cutlines.
Somehow stuff always doubles or triple cuts, some of them are set up with the correct name and then some of them are set up with the wrong name...
Lets say every file you get is 2 GB. from a cheap 24 x 24 coro sign to a big wall mural. a 10 TB HD is $170 - thats 5,000 2 GB files that will fit onto that hd. Space is technically finite... but at the price of TB's these days, its not much!
Ontop of that theres a ton of cloud...
True, and I'm sure everyone's clientele is different... But 99.9% of the time the people sending us the files aren't the graphics artists.
So you ask your client to set it up a certain way, they talk to their graphics department or external graphics designer... They make a few changes and then...
Am I the only one who'd love a 2 GB file? Space is nearly unlimited. It takes under 30 seconds to dl 2 GB, and we can. Upload / share via Google drive.
Ripping isn't bad if you're on an SSD. I always tell our clients the highest quality / original file that you've got, and we'll make...
Average home in my city is 1-1.5 million. An agent gets between 2.5 and 5% commission depending on of they have to split it. That's 25k in commission minimum.
Housing market here is insane... They don't stay on the market for more than 5 days. Yet they still buy the cheapest shitiest flatbed...
huh, googling it it seems like you guys don't do a third hole? Guess it must not be that windy there!
Shameless stolen from a canadian site, so just linking to it. This is how all our signs are made... And then they tether it to the pole at the bottom so it doesnt flap around in the wind...
ACM. You can round the corners on it - But if its being hung... the corners shouldnt be an issue unless theyre moving them. Real estate agents are cheap, we do thousands of signs a month for agents - A lot of time they bring back their 2-3 year old signs when they jumped to a different...
Nekoosa is pretty good, you can request a sample on their website and they'll send you a 30" x 10 FT roll for free. No limits either, I requested a roll of everything they have and got it within a week...
they sell a toner / laser compatible one for xerox too. I think Synapse is the premium...
Well... now thats tricky! It was Rite media from All graphics supplies. Then Spicers bought AGS, and rebranded it.
https://allgraphicsuppliescaribbean.com/products/rite-media-paper-9-mil - I'm pretty sure its some cheap chinese stuff... but it works.
https://nekoosa.com/products/synaps-om...
Look for synthetic paper. We use it all the time - the stuff we buy it from Spicer's... But I'm sure someone else makes it too.
It's more of a plastic than a paper, so it doesn't crinkle or get damaged as easy... On-top of being waterproof it allows it to work outside.
Couldn't wait so I tried.
The service code doesn't allow me to remote in... Unless the username is something special. Tried the code, admin, administrator... I give up.
I'll bug my service rep for it, he emailed.me.the service pin without me even asking for it so I doubt he'd mind.
It's...
It's not the same code as the service menu code on the printer is it?
I tried and it didn't work .. maybe I fat fingered it though. I'll have to try again after the long weekend!
No smell, the reasin is pretty much a latex machine. I only ever got smells on certain media on our latex, Im sure when the resin heats that media up it'll smell, but so far nothing.
I bought the resin for my home... I like to play with new technology. I'd love the 1650.... But it wouldn't fit...
It's nearly equivalent. They don't list the specs anywhere so I had to reach out to a rep before I bought it.
They claim it does 161 sqft/hr in high quality mode where as the latex 700 does 183 - roughly 10% slower.
I've never tested it though, usually I print 30-40 ft at a time. I've got a...
I'm insulted... They're Australian, not canadian!
I'd say they're using ij40 at those prices.
The black adhesive side... I'm still stumped on that. The only time I've seen 3m vinyl look like they is if it's a black vinyl.... I don't think 3m has a printable vinyl with a black adhesive side.
Just for shits and giggles I grabbed our sound measurer from work to test it.
Getting an average of 81 decibels standing infront of the printer. 5 ft away in getting 78. Again... In my garage so it echoes. May not be as bad in a big shop. Up here in Canada.. if you're exposed to 85 db average...
