  1. Epson r5070 - anyone got one?

Just curious if anyone has one on here? I've had mine for about 3 weeks now...so far I love it. The prints come out "Almost" as good as the Epson s80's, better Color gamut than the latex... Way less grain (usually), and so far panel lengths been perfect.... And colors been consistent. I...
  2. Need Help Can you identify these 3M Vinyls?

The adhesive is clear, not black. So on a pink vinyl... The back will be pink. It shouldn't be black - that indicates the adhesive is black, not the back side of the vinyl... Do you have a link for the product you bought? Might be able to decipher what it is from there.
  3. PPF Failure?

Ppf is paint protection film. Know those rubbery, laminate type screen guards? It's like that but thicker. It's super expensive - think 5x the price of wrap vinyl... A pain to install, and tbh... Generally not worth it. I say that as a 3m installer.... It's super expensive... So people...
  4. Question Lease or Buy

Personally... I'd buy outright, then buy the extended warranty. Latex is something like 2-3K A year... Epson I was just quoted $2000 a year for the R500, $2500 for the R500 with cheap $500 heads replacements. Can purchase up to 5 years on the Epson... so I usually bake in the extended. $20K...
  5. Need Help Can you identify these 3M Vinyls?

So you just bought some decals from an online store and you're looking for what material they were made out of? I see you're from HK - Are these decals from HK? The backer looks a bit off to me... 3M ink isn't that raised / intense of a color. Vinyl 2 looks legit - See the difference in...
  6. PPF Failure?

Don't you guys know that each sticker adds 10 horse power? Obviously the Clear sticker underneath raised the graphics just enough to cause the wind to drag less, giving them an edge! Imagine winning a race, then being told someone put a piece of tape on your vehicle so you're disqualified. It...
  7. I’m doing this.

Another Canadian...we're going to outnumber the Americans soon. Where in BC are you located? I tried to dabble in sublimation... I bought a sawgrass from Able auctions. It had no ink and I didnt want to spend hundreds, so I bought some cheap Amazon crap... and some Amazon paper... The colors...
  8. PPF Failure?

"Neither NASCAR nor Joe Gibbs Racing have detailed the potential effect the modification could have had on the speed of the vehicles. Further evaluations will be completed at NASCAR's R&D facility in North Carolina, according to Fox Sports reporter, Bob Pockrass." What affect could it have...
  9. Who has printed on 3M #8518 Gloss Laminate?

Yes. We print on it a lot, works good. Pain in the ass to apply without screwing up though, so print a few extras since you'll be wasting it anyways - wet apply works good for it
  10. Plexiglass or lexan ?

Aren't the tarrifs only like 10% or something stupid? Usually everything is way cheaper in USA than here with the buying power USA has. It's surprising that something is double the price than it is here
  11. Plexiglass or lexan ?

You guys pay 68 usd for 3mm ACM?! We're in the $45 range Canadian.. about $35 usd. You can get even lower if you're using the cheap, thin skinned stuff - but we don't touch it, bends too easy.
  12. What goes on first PPF or Vinyl wrap?

Ppf is like a thick cell phone protector. You'll still get rock chips and scratches... But it protects what's underneath of it. If you ppf under a wrap... Then when the customer gets a bunch of chips out of their wrap you'd need to replace the wrap, and likely the ppf... Where as if you do it...
  13. Need Help HP Latex 115

I believe you need to update the firmware and then you'll be fine setting the date past 2020.
  14. need real world feedback of the HP W800

Theres a few things you can do. We find if you attach it to the take up reel before printing, the panels stay the same length - We did also run a media calibration while it was attached to the take up reel. It sucks... but at least for traffic we can cut the extra off and use it for screen...
  15. Paint Protection Film

Grimco carries 3M as well - What offerings are you looking for exactly? PPF is expensive and a pain to install - Dont cheap out with a no name brand, it'll end up yellowing and cost you more than you're saving. We've used 3M and Orafol - 3M pro line was easiest to install, and it seems to be...
  16. No Snowflakes or Bleedinghearts need to post

In most states. Some have banned it outright... So you have to travel to another state,.which some can't afford. Now it's not really a "right" it's dependant on your state.
  17. No Snowflakes or Bleedinghearts need to post

People aren't born with rights. Look down below to Mexico - They have vastly different rights than US does. Mexico probably has more Catholics in it than US does - So whether its taken as rights are given by god, or just because you were born... in both cases, that is wrong. When you're...
  18. Laminating 3M 3930?

No. You need to laminate it with 3M 1170C To meet DOT specs. How are you producing the sign? If you're printing it...you need to have a Latex printer and the DOT Certified traffic software, otherwise it doesn't meet the required specs, and you could get into a lot of trouble if someone crashes...

  20. Wrap material alternatives (the saga continues July 2022)

I think in the past year we've tried it all! We've used - Grimco brightline - used 1 roll... Wasn't bad. Did a few flat kiosks as well as a vehicle... The vehicle hasn't come back so I'm guessing it works ok. Arlon slx - 2 rolls. It went on ok... But the super low tack of it made doing...
