I would find a local shop that has a UV printer and sub that out. A direct print will look much better than applying clear and then backing with white.
We have both a dedicated flatbed and a hybrid inhouse. I prefer the dedicated for substrates. We went with a hybrid instead of a R2R as we wanted the option in case the dedicated flatbed went down we could still run sheets or if the work load was too high on the dedicated we could run some on...
Most distributors are not stocking all of the colors as there would be too much inventory with all the lines and all the colors available. Most of them have the material shipped direct from vendor once ordered.
We do plaques all the time. There is not going to be a stock plaque size from a distributor at that size. Easiest way to do it would be buy some oak, cut to size, router the edges and finish it with a clear coat. there are some companies that will custom make whatever you want. Big Sky...
18oz block out sewn is the preferred way to make it longest lasting for pole banners. As far as going across a street we have done these many times with a heavy duty mesh printed 2 sides. We then do a pole pocket top and bottom. We tell them to use a strong wire cable to stretch across the...
It would be worth a chat with Inkcups although that small of a diameter may not work well with it as far as getting them to make a jig to be able to hold it. Their machines are more meant for drinkware. The Helix would be overkill as that is probably a $250,000 machine. They used to have a...
we told our supplier we would not accept anything with less than 6 month expiration left when we received. They had to drop ship the inks from Mimaki but it solved that issue.
OK but that goes back to my original statement. The MP11 is a UV cured ink. The MP31 is not. You will not get a clear/varnish in the MP31. If they no longer have a flexible UV ink for that printer and can only go to MP31 then they are virtually turning that into what would be their standard...
I would call an electrician and have them wire it. Not worth the risk of doing something wrong and frying your equipment. Wont cost that much since it should be under 1 hour to complete unless they need to run new wires.
The MP31 ink is similar to eco solvent. If your wanting some chemical resistance you will need to laminate. You take any eco solvent printer and you will be able to wipe inks off with Isopropyl Alcohol.
That is more than likely a static issue. It is best to keep the humidity around 40%. It could also be partially clogged nozzles to where when the ink is jetted it is deflecting. Easy to check if it is that by running a nozzle check. But my guess would be static as it is dry in the winter time.
that is quite a bit of weight on the acrylic and I would not trust any adhesive over time to hold. You will need to find a way to use screws/bolts. Personally I would go with standoffs to give it a more finished look.
