This is where passion projects will be great. Find something you want to improve and showcase on and create/design/illustrate to your hearts desire to do a whole series.
This one chick wanted to redo old signage and created them that would best fit the business in her eyes. This was moreso to...
I'm into this as well. but hand painting on stucco is gonna suck a$$ so find someone who can do spray... (I'm assuming the wall isn't smooth at all)
I wonder where this is at... if it's a graffiti artist, I'm sure they'll be down to throw down for a good budget (hopefully) so long as you can...
Oh yea def. I think his podcast is motivating for creatives in general but his experience is moreso in illustration. I used to get so mad listening to him but not at him.. but more mad at myself. LIKE GIRL YOU CAN BE GREATTTTT..
So I try. and you should too. spice it up a lil bit! change some...
Going back to the original post.....
being fairly young here and reading what everyone is going through, it's discouraging to know that we, as sign professionals, tend to suck it up and just make the darned thing to make the customers happy. I know our shop TRIES to at least give them something...
few things I think maybe going on :
- idk what kind of plotter you have but maybe your blade is getting stuck? Mine can be pulled out and I think it gets stuck when it's extended out of it's holder... as I've noticed some items will get cut deeper or completely out.
- maybe the file has a...
maybe a higher tack mask. I do notice that if my blade pressure is too deep for any material (vinyl, heatpress, etc), the material has a harder time separating from the backer. but high tack tape and some maneuvering and patience may help :/
I always say this (to myself.....) when it comes to stuff that I believe in... The world is sh!tty already as is, you do not have to be someone that adds to it. Do your best and those around you will follow.
This is how I feel when I see someone throwing away trash not in a trash can or not...
I think being able to hold a conversation without judgment and criticism of what ones beliefs are is very admirable. To be open to what others have to say without shoving your own beliefs down their throats is hard to do but it shows patience and understanding and hopefully allows one to think...
HMMM. I feel like you can definitely take this a step further. With all the skills that you say you have, I think there is a way. But maybe there's a missing piece that ties it all together.
I enjoy listening to Andy J Pizza's Creative Pep Talk podcast. He's an illustrator and muralist and now...
This is pretty much what creatives my age or younger is doing right now. Passion projects aka side hustle. lol
Pretty much what I'm working towards while the sign shop provides steady income for me at the moment.
This question has been on my mind for a bit cuz of this thread.
To those who are not the proprietor/business/shop owner.... should employees, like myself, be banned from hopping on forums like this during work?
LOL
LOL thanks. I may not be an expert but this is what we show to clients who are looking for a canvas/wallpaper ish look.
We love this cuz seaming, installing, and all is a breeze. would love an opportunity to try other products but we don't often get the chance to.

We once had to install a...
What would you consider it then? It's a fabric textured material that's like a finer grained canvas IMO.
I personally also like the look of it versus the normal canvas but okay.
bump bump.
The BF suggested we start making Bento Boxes for lunch. Have you guys ever considered this? The goal of the bento box is to have set meals that look appealing but at the same time, it can help with "calorie counting". I think the objective is to make sure you have controlled...
