My boss tells me this every opportunity she gets. :) And boy do I wish I had a twin or triplet. (or maybe my own set of Stepford Cuckoo's type chicks)
I do feel bad though as well as I do my job... I just want to draw and paint and create with kids all day.
I also enjoy my off time but ask for...
I do believe we all have to start from somewhere, as I did at minimum wage. Again, VERY appreciative of what I get now compared to then... I just did not appreciate his comment about keeping pay low and if they're over it, get rid of them. I for one do not encourage such practices.
Our shop is...
I think I'm bitter from what all these businesses (tech/start ups/salesforce/crapcrapcrap) have done to the jobs and economic sh!t show in the city I'm in that making 50k/yr is barely scraping by.
I don't believe that either... but this was more in response to this quote by JTBoh
Just do what everyone else in the world does and hire a GA out of college, train them in production, and then continue to pay them the rate of a GA.
When they get tired of low rates and long hours, rinse...
LOL I made this statement before and had a lot of backlash. nice to see other people see this too (says the millennial)

I came into the "industry" on a whim to help a friend/now boss. I took interior design, architecture, drawing classes, some graphic/web design classes all at a community...
We use Gemini for custom letters but the demand for these on our end have been low as of late.
If we do, turnaround for a quote and the letters have taken a little longer than when I first started at the shop 4 years ago. From my understanding, there was a lot of people leaving/retiring this...
We have an HP Latex 360 using Flexi and though you can download a profile for window perf, I have had problems with that one. It has like 12 or 16 passes and when my coworkers went to install, everyone was like "why can't we see through the holes!?".. turns out, those 12 or 16 passes caked the...
My computer has been custom built... here are the specs I think that help? (I didn't build it and I'm not that well versed in all this mumbo jumbo, says the millennial)
Processor - i9-7900x CPU @ 3.30GHz 3.31GHz
RAM - 64 GB
1 1TB SSD
1 2TB SSD
I think I have 2 500gb hard drives and 1 2TB hard...

I've never cut these but we have printed graphics on material like this for a (giant) concrete/brick wall. looks like you can cut it too. Just for future reference.
Yes! I should try this. Even with super longgg print and cut stuff, I make sure to take the time to change the cut order so things cut smoothly. I don't think anyone who doesn't do this part of the job realizes the time and effort it takes to make THEIR job easier...
I love weeding, it does take a bit of time though and sadly, I don't do it as much since I have to set up prints and run the machines.
I don't understand why people pick the holes out first, those are a lot harder to find vs weeding the outsides first. I get it's easier to pull the holes out...
We use either removable noodle (but we have had history of removing poorly painted walls) or removable phototex (this we've used for homes and hotels because of the concern of paint removed... only time paint WAS removed was because the walls were especialllyyyyy poorly prepped and painted in...
We just got a CNC this past year and no one has ever operated a router before. We use VCarve and it's simple enough to learn. Customer service is not my favorite... a little pretentious like I should know what he's talking about with his CNC jargon when we've NEVER operated a CNC before -_-...
I WAS going to ask how does one deal with the stresses of multiple jobs being juggled at the same time when they're all due pretty much the same day (seemingly) but this doesn't seem like the right group to ask.
I should've just stuck with part-time to pursue my illustration/art career when I...
A friend told me that she doesn't use cut registrations marks as much anymore. Instead, she prints a square on the bottom right of the page and uses that to line up the blade.
Pretty much, that square also has a contour cut around it and if you're lined up properly to the bottom right corner of...
Just to add, if you click "stroke" where you have options to make thicker/thinner, you can also change the alignment of it (outside, mid, inside) and change the look of the corners, etc. Dashed lines and all that are there too.
And the newer versions (from my knowledge) added the round corner...
