I have the same problem with my SP300V. I've changed the black head about every 12-18 months for the last 3-4 years and it looks just like your test print. I take great care of my printer and so I'm puzzled why the head just gets that way. No head strikes either but it doesn't get used every day...
I run an SP300V and SP540V and have heard the same thing. I'm a small one-man shop and really don't want to upgrade. Plus, I just love these printers. If the aftermarket consumables dry up I guess I will be forced to do so if I want to stay in business. I just hope the dampers, wipers, and...
Amazing work. I just got my Shapeoko XXL setup. I'd love to know more about your bits, speeds, and feeds for PVC and acrylic. Also, where are you getting the PVC and acrylic? I'm new to CNC as well but have been playing around and learning the included software and an older version Aspire, 8.0...

Plenty of heat is used on automotive glass when window tinting to shape the film to the glass. I think you will be fine in this instance with a heat gun and only use enough heat to get the vinyl to release. John
I dry apply most these days if it's not too large of a graphic or stripe, but I've wet-applied many different reflective materials for over 24 years with no issues. I think a lot is in the application method, using a good flat squeegee, and the solution you use. I was also a professional window...
