  1. Gemini Resellers so cheap and fast??? WTH

Read the fine print. 5-7 days for the production + shipping which is 2 weeks, just like you get them. Plus this company is probably buying 50x as much as you are so they get some preferential treatment. Lastly, I believe their pricing is pretty close to list last I checked. Even if they do...
  2. HDU Brands

I have to admit, I'm unsure I've ever heard someone prefer DesignBoard over Duna or SF4. Either way, you can call the MFG but I do know NGlantz still supplies for DesignBoard. I'm sure if you call up DesignBoard they'll tell you who is in your area.
  3. Installing Polymetal 2'x3' signs on interior walls using VHB tape 5952

Just use stand offs. They are attractive, relatively cheap, and work great.
  4. Suggestions How to hang a double sided 4 x 8 sign

Build two of those, or something similar, out of steel or aluminum It will look good and function well. This will bolt into the post structure and then bolt/screw into the sign. Should be more than strong enough to handle the sign. As for the sign, build a frame out of whatever you're...
  5. Wow, Check out this estimate

I'm always perplexed by people not understanding the basics of cost of living and how it impacts prices. If it's more expensive to live in a region/state, it's typically going to be more expensive to do business there. As a result, typically prices will be more expensive. Now can you run a...
  6. Wow, Check out this estimate

Do you really not understand the difference between HCOL and LCOL areas and the impact on prices? It's not just one thing. It's hundreds of things. Higher taxes, higher food costs, higher rent prices, higher gas costs, higher insurance costs, and plenty more. You add it up and it means you...
  7. Cut-out Letters on wall

Has anyone ever tried a digital projector?
  8. Suggestions Gemini drill pattern pricing

Gemini has a lot of benefits, but they some stuff really backwards. Anyone with a CNC router or laser cutter would cut the letters from the backside, mark the stud location, and then install the studs after. This would make the templates "perfect" assuming both the printer and CNC machine were...
  9. Need advice on vinyl lettering signage

Switch to P95 and do a 1st surface install. It's going to look better, install better, and save you a lot of time and energy.
  10. Question Customer refuses to pay, can I take his graphics down?

Walk in the door. Tell them you're here to get paid. It's way harder to ignore someone when they're right in front of you. It's very easy to ignore a phone call or email.
  11. looking for digitizing embroidery

I only use them for converting to vector art but they're pretty good: https://www.ignitiondrawing.com/home
  12. Need Help Epilog venting

The easy and cheap option is to walk into Harbor Freight and buy their green dust collector. It's what a lot of people use. If you want to get a better product, Penn State makes a very good product. I have one that's used every day and is about 15 years old and it's great. I have a much...
  13. Palight

You need to take into consideration the expansion rate of PVC. Otherwise it's a fine choice to use as an alternative to MDO. If installed properly, it should easily outlast MDO due to it's resistance to moisture. Generally speaking, all white PVC is fine outside but the glossy stuff lasts better.
  14. Cluster ....

Sounds like you get to make an extra few hundred bucks to mount the vinyl on some acrylic...
  15. Cost Effective Photo Printing on Acrylic?

I need approximately 90 - 8x10 photos printed on or applied to acrylic. I inherited a job last year mounting paper printed photos under an acrylic cover and it was a nightmare. Just way too time consuming and frustrating. I'd like to see what kind of options are out there. If anyone has any...
  16. Suggestions Design Recommendations

Signs are supposed to be informative. That sign says "Stork" and that's it because the rest isn't going to be easy to read. So ask your customer very simply "Do you think people driving down the road know what "Stork" is?" If they're confident in their brand recognition that they don't think...
  17. Alternative To Gemini?

Sometimes it would be nice if they took a little longer to quote. I sent them art and specifically said something along the lines of "I'm not sure if this is going to work. Let me know before I send it to my customer." They told me no problem just clean up the artwork a bit and we should be...
  18. Alternative To Gemini?

Gemini's pattern process is very flawed. As far as I know, they still mark their stud locations by "hand" which makes things way less consistent. Anyone that owns a CNC/Laser knows that you use the machine to mark your studs whenever possible. That makes the process go a hell of a lot...
  19. When someone asks..."Is that the best price you can give me?"

Ask them what they're prepared to spend. Then offer them a product that is in their budget. The other option is offer them a cash, pay up front, discount on the same service.
