  1. Roland Print Studio

In to hear responses as well. Price shows $1,099 on the roland site now. If it lives up to the hype it sounds promising...but for that coin I think i'd rather have an aftermarket rip that can run a printer/cutter of any brand combination. I figured if it's only good for machines that range...
  2. Versaworks and Summa

As the poster above said, summa seems to have the greatest reliability and accuracy of any plotters and most people on this forum are running Roland Print / Summa plotter. Your other option is to get a different rip that will work with both. I think most aftermarket rips support both.
  3. Versaworks Canvas Profile

    We use SGC i think
  4. Roland Lec 300 - yellow not printing - please help

  5. Roland Lec 300 - yellow not printing - please help

How old is your yellow cartridge???
  6. New Versaworks DUAL Rip?

How about that new MAC Rip??? It's a shame for $15-30k they won't let you also have the mac version of the new rip. We'll keep running our rip PC.
  7. Who makes mesh banner in a 30inch roll?

EDIT -- Nevermind I didn't see mesh part. Have you checked arlon? and grimco? Otherwise cut a 60" down as suggested.
  8. New Versaworks DUAL Rip?

Exactly. And the Dual rip does not support any other printer right now, Roland responded to our Tweet. Bummer.
  9. Custom Printed Butcher Paper??

Awesome thank you! I came across their website earlier and just emailed them
  10. Custom Printed Butcher Paper??

    What guys?
  11. Custom Printed Butcher Paper??

I've got a large grocery store chain looking for Custom Printed repeating/seamless pattern of single-sided 1-color (black) to white butcher paper for their meat/seafood departments...does anyone here have ANY idea where to go on these? 750ft x 17" Rolls.....need anywhere from 250-1000 rolls.
  12. Etched vinyl issues....

Boom, countered laziness with laziness. That's how you do it! hahahaha I agree, I'd have a talk with your installer. If he installed each window one by one, by the time he finished, he should be able to go back to the first window and start wiping them one by one down the line.
  13. Etched vinyl issues....

    understood. Glad it worked out!
  14. Etched vinyl issues....

Well that's embarrassing. Why didn't you drive over and look at it when the customer called with a concern?
  15. SolJet EJ-640

Unfortunately I haven't tried any. 90% of the work we do is less than 12ft, so we just manually roll up in baskets.
  16. New Versaworks DUAL Rip?

I suppose I was being hopeful in that you could print on the roland printer, go cut on a Summa cutter using versa works. In hindsight, why would ROLAND versa works offer that? I'm going back to bed. :)
  17. SolJet EJ-640

We have a new VS540I and after working a few kinks out, it runs strong 8-12 hours a day, every day. No banding.... pat - I know you've tried replacing with Roland brand take-ups...have you explored the lesser $300 off brand take up? At this point I think you owe it to yourself before you rule...
  18. New Versaworks DUAL Rip?

I'd assume full disclosure is coming out next week at SGIA. I am just impatient :)
  19. New Versaworks DUAL Rip?

I just got an email about Roland's new EJ-640 that's paired with the new Versaworks DUAL Rip Software that claims to be able to handle files with transparencies now, rip more efficiently AND handle printing on one machine > cutting on another. Does anyone have info on this new RIP and will it...
  20. ISA or SGIA Expo? Why??

I think after some more research, I'd rather go to SGIA next week...plane tickets are cheap, now I just need to find a room :) if someone hAppens to have an extra bed let me know and we'll split it! i just realized I had them backwards in my firs post.
