Start the machine in service mode by pressing/holding function and remote.
Go to maintenance menu...I can't remember exact menus or names but you'll work it out.
Write down what your settings are before changing them.
Check Refresh level - set it to 0. This is the frequency of spits per passes...
I agree with this. Probably went out of alignment when the new head and capping station was installed.
Get the cap top to line up perfectly under the head, to create an air tight seal and you should be good to go.
The fact that the magenta comes back tells me it's not the head (electrically), but I'd have a good look at it from underneath to see if you can see anything.
Clean the bottom of the head and around it, clean the cap. Clean and check the wiper. Replace the wiper if you have a new one.
This.
When I first got my Mimaki CJV30 I could not stand the fan noise.
They have a small fan at the end of a "tunnel" full of components - blowing through and making a tin whistle sound.
Ridiculous.
I took the back cover off and unplugged that fan and uncovered part of the "tunnel".
Then I...
You've gotta be super careful swapping the ffc cables. Aside from all the electrical precautions before you touch anything.
Everything has to line up perfectly.
As an example, we were diagnosing test points and found we got different readings if we unplugged and re-plugged the cables.
If the...
I tried version 9, which had the profiling and pre-flight colour editing removed.
I have downloaded SL10 trial version but haven't installed it.
It's a full install, so I'm worried that when I uninstall it, it may remove some important dll's or alter things in my perfectly working, not broken -...
Yes, they call it "Advanced Calibration Wizard".
It means you can create your own printmodes from scratch. Set Max ink, print the the linearization chart, scan with a spectrophotometer, it plots the curves...can then print the icc targets.
I create the icc in another program (i1 Match). Then...
This version is Dec 2010, so probably XP originally?
I'm thinking I may need to do like you say and run it in a virtual machine.
But, there's a lot of Signlab users like me that still run the older versions, and surely someone has updated their Windows by now and knows the answer???!
...I'm...
That's good to know. I suppose I could re-install Rasterlink and use it for one machine, but I'd rather not use it at all.
I have a good workflow with Signlab into it's RIP (VPM). And I make my own profiles - so I can match the 2 printers' output to be identical if I want.
It's just that when I...
Ahh, well it definitely only outputs to one machine at a time.
I thought it was because I had them both plugged in to the same powered USB hub, but I moved one to a different USB 2 slot and still needed to unplug the other machine for it to work.
I've just picked up a JV33 as a backup to my CJV30.
I'm going to run the same inkset and profile it the same as the other machine.
Would like to be able to print to both at once, but can't see how.
I know VPM will output to 2 machines (or more) at once, because I can print on the Mimaki and cut...
As the title says - I haven't found a definitive answer to this yet.
What are my options?
Does Signlab 8 run okay in Windows 10? 11?
I have new hasp drivers ready for my purple dongle, in case that gives me trouble.
I may get a new PC with Windows 10 or 11 - or I may keep this PC and just...
Make sure he knows how to dissipate the capacitors before he touches anything electrical. IE Unplug it and press the power switch a few times then leave it for some time.
Check the ribbon cables between the head and slider board for ink drops, folds, bends. Unplug and re-seat them if he's...
A quick Google brought up the service manual detailing the error:
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/2222337/Mimaki-Jv300-130.html?page=212
I'm not a tech, hopefully someone on here can understand it and point you in the right direction to fix this yourself, but it seems like you could start by...
Sounds a bit drastic. Can you alter the Y scan current?
I seem to remember doing that once, trying to quieten it down a bit - but I dropped it too far and would get that error every time it tried to move! I think I re-uploaded my parameter backup to fix that.. You may be able to increase it
