I don't have the 315, but I do have the 570 which is a little bigger with a few more bells and whistles. I love mine. There are pros and cons to every printer but so far the pros far outweigh the cons on the latex printers. If you looking for specific questions please feel free to reach out...
Well not sure about the flatbed, but the 360 the heads are the same as mine.
EDIT: While I'm not a 'local' shop. I have two HP 570's and they are awesome. They are fast and intuitive. While there is no 'perfect' printer in my experience after personally dealing with Solvent, Eco-Solvent...
This was a problem with older machines. From what I understand the Magenta head would basically get a heat build up causing the flow rate to change. This issue has been fixed. I'm currently using HP570 and am able to match colors printed fine.
What year make and model? I using HP570 and...
I think that we've gone down this road several times and have all come to the conclusion that while it sucks this is just the current state of the industry. The sign/graphic industry used to be technical, skilled, and artistic. You often had to apprentice with someone, and it took years if not...
I think that your first assumption is correct it looks like they were edged onto the holographic material. As far as doing this with a roland... not sure. I know 3M make a holographic wrap film that you might be able to put through your printer but I'm not sure. You best bet would be to...
Not rick but here's why your having an issue and what I would do to get the desired outcome you want.
The logo is a mixture of raster and vector elements. This is generally not a good thing and is evident of of someone that has little to no experience with printing or production. You will run...
So is the color an issue while being back-lite? I know that you can adjust the ink density and this might help, it could also be a profile issue. Are you using a canned profile or one that you created yourself?
Why not sell them 4x8 sheets of di-bond ( or whatever brand you prefer) laminate the whole thing in dry erase lam, mount it using stand off's. Maybe look at placing a steel sheet behind the di-bond on the upper half so they could use magnets as well.
Why not just have two files? One for your print file and than export as a jpeg and decrease the size as your proof? Also if your working with raster images why not look at using Photoshop?
We would do the same, probably print onto 3m180cv3 and laminate with dry erase lam. Do a wall test and make sure material will work first as the variable is going to be the paint.
How are you laminating this? Is a roll to roll or flat table? Are they small pieces that your feeding in by hand? it almost looks like you might not have enough tension on the laminate roll and/or the printed material.
OVERTIME..... I love over time. I understand that not everyone does, and sometimes the scheduling gets complicated but still your telling me that your going to pay me time and a half to do the same thing I've been doing all day anyways. I worked one job where 10-15 hours a week were overtime.
So a 16:10:00 is a error code that gets thrown up for a ambient temperature issue, as well as a vent issue. Make sure all the vents are clean and clear and the shop temp is with in range of operating temp.
A little more info like the error code? Is this with all profiles? Something that you can look at doing is adjusting the heat while it's printing. You can also look at increasing the number of passes and setting up an inter pass delay.
Most of the people I have worked with/for are self taught production people. I find that many of the people that have an 'education' in design lack the knowledge of current production. It seems like they are taught to design for the screen. Do you think this is a case of the educational...
