  1. Dreaded xls file........

We accept only jpeg, tif, png, psd, psb, eps, pdf, ai, cdr, and svg files for that reason. We will accept Word and Excel documents, but only for text for brochures and things like that.
  2. Font help

Not a font. Too many varying letterforms.
  3. Question Do you use dedicated rip computer?

A standalone laptop runs our RIP and I can't see any reason to do it any other way. If I had to design and rip from the same computer and the system went down, I'd be in a world of hurt trying to get everything back up and running. I'm pretty sure it could set me back as much as a week. We...
  4. Best Outdoor Vinyl

Same material we use in our shop, also with great success. If one can't leave an 1/8" border around the board, I'd suggest 1/8" or 1/4" plastic trim cap around the perimeter. Grimco can special order it from Nudo, or you can get similar trim caps through Outwater Plastics.
  5. Best Outdoor Vinyl

It will not work with Orafol products and I'd be very leery of using it with any manufacturer other than 3M for that reason.
  6. Shop Pics

Here's our place. About 3000 square feet. The only thing I'm not showing is our 'bay'. It's got a 6'3" tall door and is about 12' x 16', so needless to say, we do most of our vehicle lettering/graphics on location or outdoors, as weather permits.

  8. Laminate Question for you

It sounds like they've only had this machine a few weeks.
  9. Font please

Being as it's a logo for a high-end motor coach company, the lettering is probably custom. Find my Font is good software for font matching, and it's cheap. Find my Font - Font Identification Software Application

  11. Font ID

    Oops! Wrong post.
  12. Ice cream maker needs printing help

This is probably the best and most economical suggestion. Have the sign shop you currently use run a batch of your logo decals with a blank space to write the name in with a Sharpie, instead of printing them with the flavors like you would normally have them do.
  13. Font ID

It appears to be Folklore Regular Oblique that has been stretched/expanded.
  14. "Warranty" for truck lettering

We use only cast vinyl and express no warranty on our vinyl products, but simply give the customer the manufacturer's rating and also explain that the rating is an average life expectancy with factors like climate, maintenance, and indoor/outdoor storage potentially adding or subtracting from...

  16. Font ID request

Neon (Tubes) for Diner. Not sure about Mel's. EDIT: Or, as Tiki mentioned, Beauty School Dropout.
  17. Slow day...what do you do?

    Lol. Yeah, that, too.
  18. Slow day...what do you do?

Adjust price sheets, print work orders, design and make display items, print our own shirts to give away, clean the shop, rearrange things, etc. If there's absolutely nothing to do, which is rare, we think up ways to help rid ourselves of slow days, like new marketing ideas, sales, and give-aways.
  19. Price check on Isle #4

We would be at $.44 each based on 51 decals per square foot, if they are spaced .25" apart. Edit: If they have to be cut down into 200 seperate decals, we would add probably $25 to the total cost for that. My initial pricing is based on supplying them all on one sheet and not cut into...
