You need to look at event viewer. Click on the start button and type event viewer. Look in Windows Logs -> System. Look for a red error when the problem happened. Let us know what it says exactly. A disappearing program means it's crashing most likely.

2: I would be interested in finding a tabletop mounted version of this. It is a little awkward unless you have the pieces held down. You need both hands to operate the tool while holding the piece. But it's not too difficult.

According to Grimco, they said you just need to peel the liner and leave it air out overnight. I use briteline translucent with briteline wrapcast laminate and never had this problem. Also, I think you should be venting your signs. Put some louvers or something on there.

What features made you want to switch from 19? It's literally the same program that it's been since Windows 98. You could switch to Corel or Designer, they both have no subscriptions.
WELD-ON is for bonding acrylic to acrylic or some other plastic. Not for bonding to aluminum. I would recommend using stainless painted screws, or painted rivets. You could also try LEXEL clear adhesive, but I would still use at least a few mechanical fasteners just in case.
