  1. How does this fly...no pun intended

Hey. I need help identifying this font. LOL
  2. Cutting & Weeding Controltac 180

We have had good results with Gerber 220 for small cut letters. Rip weeding 0.5" letters. No problems here.
  3. Mix coolant

We run an EFI H1625 Flatbed. Our coolant went from clear to blue. I asked EFI the same question and they said it was fine to mix the two coolants. I know this isn't the same printer, but I thought I would offer my experience with the subject. Good luck!
  4. Need Help Gerber 408 CNC Router Help

This should get you going. Good luck!
  5. Any idea with just one letter?

Why not just redraw this? It's super simple. In the time it took to post this thread, you could have it converted to vector.
  6. Question Roland XR-640

Test print looks good. We've had our XR for 6 years. We've replaced 2 print heads, but those were operator related. Overall a great workhorse printer. I don't know much about shot counts, what are you paying for the printer? Maybe offer $2,000 less to account for any unforseen issues? Good luck.

    Condensed Milk?
  9. What would cause a printer to make this error?

    Pinch roller for sure.
  10. We're Moving! - What should we buy/or not buy?

I agree with jfiscus. We actually have both vertical and horizontal racks. We just built them ourselves using 4x4's and plywood. We keep our 'less likely to warp' substrates in the vertical rack and the more sensitive substrates on the horizontal. If you are buying a flatbed printer, warped...

  12. How can I make UV inks cure faster?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. The material is patented, extruded, and printed by the customer. I'm not sure why they can't cut it in house. I'm just doing my part to finish the piece. I'm trying to find out if they use any adhesion promoters.
  13. How can I make UV inks cure faster?

I agree. I tested the dyne levels of the substrate and it came in around 36. My experience is that we need our substrates to be at least 50. We are printing on an EFI-H1625 with manufacturers ink and 50 seems to be the lowest we can go while still getting good adhesion.
  14. How can I make UV inks cure faster?

This job is requiring me to trim down the customers already printed pieces. The ink is chipping and lifting at the trimmed edge. These were printed at their facility - so I don't know what kind of machine or inks they are using. We are going to let them sit over the weekend in hopes that the...
  15. What do you use to dust off prints?

Micro fiber rags. IV brings up a great point about static. No matter how much you clean and dust the surface, static can still pull up debri from the most unlikely spots. Good luck!

    Look at Speedy Metals. http://www.speedymetals.com/
  17. Magenta Banding on VS-640

Have you run any test prints with only magenta ink? I would create a file with just a magenta square. See how that prints. Maybe it will push enough ink through the head to clear it out.
  18. How do I reduce tool marks on CNC routed PVC?

Do you have the option for Climb Milling? We will run jobs normally, then rerun them with Climb Milling checked. This will clean up the edges. Just a thought.
  19. Efi H1625 Led - "Ink cleaner case may be full"

You need to go into Parameters. Under the system tab look in the middle right area. You should be able to RESET the cleaner case. I've had this error a few times. I think we weren't holding down the Liquid Separator button often enough. Hope this helps.
  20. Question Not using my VS540 for 6 months

I have the same printer and it's been sitting dormant, but plugged in for over 6 months. I pull it out from time to time to do nozzle checks and print something to ensure the heads are still good. By reading the other posts, this probably isn't the best practice, but for the sake of...
