On my SG-300, the setup light seems to stay on when the machine is awake and not printing.

Another thing I forgot to ask, since your trying to cut through the entire thing instead of just the top layer, what is the thickness of the backer paper? As the printer your currently using can only cut up to 16 mil thickness, although I doubt it's that thick.

Those 2 photos of the printer look all good. Do you have any photos of what the cutter is doing? (You mentioned it was tearing up when doing multiple cuts.

Pictures of what it's doing would be great. Maybe one of the cutting strip and one of the blade holder (just to make sure the blade and all in secured properly. If the machine is new, then it should be under warranty and a tech should come out free of charge to fix.

Just to confirm, it's only the 6 mil vinyl, no laminate on top, correct? Would you have any photos to show? Even that machine should be able to cut through 6 mil vinyl. What shape is the cutting strip in, as this could affect it as well, if it's all cut up and such, then it would need replacing.

Have you tried sign-in-china? They have pretty good third party and OEM parts.

For the second part, you need to hold down those 3 keys as you turn on the secondary power.

As these machines are end of service, no certified Tech will touch them, you might be able to find a "non-tech" tech that might come take a look, but more or less for these machines, your on your own. You've probably already done this, but have you cleaned the encoder strip? not sure if that...

Do you have a picture of how your prints are looking? Not sure if it would help, but maybe give someone here a better idea as to what the actual cause is.

Have you tried increasing the humidity with a humidifier? I know this time of year where we are, it gets very dry with low humidity.

Hope it works for you. If you have that nozzle test print, it might give a little insight as well.

Have you tried playing around with the profile settings? Are you doing a high quality print or just standard? Also you could play around with the speed and heat, but I think it could be partially an alignment thing. Have you done a Calibration recently to make sure the feed gap is correct?

I would say a bi-directional adjustment is probably needed. Also, do you have a picture of the nozzle test print?

One thing you can try is to connect a syringe to the line after the cap tops and try to pull ink through. Also if you have a picture of the nozzle test, that would be great. If you are successful in reviving the heads, I would recommend replacing the cap tops for sure, as they should be replaced...

I agree with Victor, you'd be better buying a used Printer, maybe a SP-300i or VS-300i.

Have you tried a different profile? Looks like too much ink is being put down for that media. If not already using the profile for that media, might want to get it and try it.

From that test print, the first magenta head has a bunch of missing nozzles and some deflections, which is probably part of the cause.
