  1. Those with Rolands with take up issues...our solution *video inside*

RJPW I am going to check into those plastic cores. For everyone else....before you chase the take-up ghost down an engineering rabbit hole I would check out sign-in-china take-up systems. We had bought some before and had pretty good results with Mutoh's. The newer ones they have look like the...
  2. Those with Rolands with take up issues...our solution *video inside*

For what it's worth and this may not be the solution to your problem. Our stock XC540 plastic core inserts were pushing the cardboard tubes out too far on the "tight right side" ends. If you were trying to take-up the media with the edge very close to the right side take-up tube it gets loose on...
  3. Roland Ink Scam?

Now cue the stupid hand drawing ...............................................................................
  4. Roland Ink Scam?

Jason don't stress it...A Gino is a rogue ForumBot Fred forgot the password too. It will not make substantive thread titles or post without ending in the infamous series of clickbait .........., it boast about making $19,000 on a 440 cartridge as an example. It insults other members for even...
  5. Roland Ink Scam?

The new TruVis ink isn't really cheaper when it uses more ink to print the same image compared to eco sol max.
  6. Roland Ink Scam?

I switched our soljets to $20 a liter of Chinese ink and could not be happier. We have been running it for years and the colors are better imo. Nazdar is great ink but still too expensive.
  7. Need Help In a pickle on laminators...

Check out royal sovereign or ledco if possible. The royal sovereign take-up is not too expensive to add maybe less than $750 depending on the model and they all have the rubber strips on them. I never understood why Seal did that either.
  8. Suggestions Plotter for 30 mil Non-Adhesive Poly/Vinyl Cutting

$3k or $30k? I don't think you can find a decent old used flatbed cutter under $15k and that is stretching it. You know a lot of the new Zunds are close to and over $100k. Outsource it out of town if your scared of someone catching on locally to a local outsource....just imo.
  9. PerfCut SP-300

If they are ok doing it on a roll don't even bother with perfcut. If you do try it make sure your cut strip is in perfect condition and you use a quality blade.
  10. Profit margins of shops in the $250k - $750k range?

Without opening a can of worms....is there a reason you don't take advantage of equipment loans and their tax write offs? I know this can be argued at various angles on both sides of cash vs loan.
  11. Banding AGAIN VS540i

Yes it can be this too but was unidirectional solving your problem though like it is hers? Usually when the encoder reader goes bad all modes have issues.
  12. Banding AGAIN VS540i

I don't use versaworks often so someone here could chime in with better directions on where to change the temperature exactly in versaworks. The goal is to lower the surface temperature on the middle platen where the ink gets laid down so it doesn't dry too fast. If the heat is too low it can...
  13. Wanted Wtb Xrite I1 Pro 2

Onyx doesn't come with the hand calibration x-rite he is looking for.
  14. Banding AGAIN VS540i

If it's under warranty make them replace the head. If it's not buy a head from sign-in-china for $1600 and have them ship it express and get the techs to install it.
  15. Banding AGAIN VS540i

First off the head design on that printer is a horrible, it's part of the reason Roland went back to per head per color setup. The head could need replaced even firing all nozzles. Your feed calibration looks off you need to tighten it up unless that gap in your nozzle check is from a head...
  16. Overcut In Versaworks?

    Curious also.
  17. Vs-540 Ink Cartridge Issue

The best way to fix this is buy a bulk refillable cartridge on eBay or signinchina along with a permanent cmyk chipset....crack your roland cartons open and pour into the bulk cart. You may have a damper going bad but you can eliminate this headache all together and just switch to Nazdar ink...
  18. Dyss Cutter Review

Maybe I am wrong but I think this is a re-badged Chinese flatbed cutter near Guangzhou with 3rd party camera attached. In all honesty I would stay away. If you do venture out and buy it get opti-scout software not the other kind they were pushing with it for $10k. We came across them a few years...
  19. Rolland Xj 540 Internal Error Code 1942091

Also find out how many printing hours are on your machine. Make sure your carriage motor is in good shape as it could be time to replace it as well.
  20. Rolland Xj 540 Internal Error Code 1942091

If you are trying to save money here is the board for $180. Get a new sensor and strip from them too. They are too cheap to not have a spare on hand. Just order by DHL and put it in yourself....or have tech do it. [$ 159.68] Original Roland XC-540 / XJ-640 / XJ-740 Print Carriage Board - W700311311
