Quality smooth is pretty slow though.
We had a bit of banding on our 660 like that.
We had the heads calibrated recently after a head strike and quality has improved a lot.
Thats the software calibrations they do with a scanner.
Took the tech best part of a day but well worth it.

Unless you calibrate directly before printing each swatch it's a toss of the dice.
The heads are consumables and wear quite quickly.
Even so the colour will change as they change temperature.
We have the same setup and it works fine.
In fact we print from Cutserver to a remote pc near the cutter that has Barcode Server running on it.
Not sure exactly what you need to know.
We print some fine art on our Oce 660.
It does a great job.
Fine art paper, glass and yes we even recently printed on some recycled plywood for a bar.
A job we did on mirrors won the artist an award recently so the results speak for themselves...
We've got an Oce with double white ink.
We use white around once a week.
Just clear the nozzles, and shake the white bags daily and it's not a problem.
Light inks are a patch to compensate for large droplet size.
Variable droplet heads with a small droplet size don't need light inks.
6 ink printers also use a fair bit more ink than 4 colour.

I've got an Epson 60600 and two HP 360s.
Neither are perfect for all jobs.
The Epson is great quality, fast, low maintenance, consistant colour and length but doesn't have the latex instant dry or scratch resistance.
For fast turnaround + unlaminated work definitely the HP.
