With the Key banner that we had been getting from Grimco I would have to run more passes on the 38" as well. I just chalked it up to the fact that since it was narrower media, that it didn't get as much cure time in the printer as the 60" would.
We have a Bosch corded here, on those kind of jobs I wouldn't use anything else. What's fun is pulling out the 36" bit when we have long penetrations to make.
I did a google search for HP L25500 Service Manual and it was the last link on the page, it went to a .ca website, it was a direct link to a pdf.

Not saying the Flexi is perfect, but I get good color printing to our L25500 with it. Even in low ink mode at six pass. Don't know about using excess ink but I don't have any drying issues at that speed.
Looking forward to installing this on our production machines. They just need to add remote...
We have done it, but with 1/4" material. We scuffed the back side of the material and used an adhesive and Gemini style pads. Worked out alright, again if the customer is okay with the edges looking as they will.
