  1. Info on past Avery failures

Had a new salesman for one of our suppliers come in and try to talk to us about Avery, mentioned to him two or three items from Avery that I will buy because I haven't found another item that will work and past that, don't mention them again to me. He tried to push it and I told him that if...
  2. need suggestions for special project

Summa DC4 printers can print a "perf" pattern so that you could print to an optically clear vinyl, overlaminate it and you would be good to go. You could also probably do something similar with any other printer that prints white, I just know there is a setting for it for the DC4 that does it...
  3. Flexi Price!

One reason could be simple economics. There are not as many Flexi users as there are Photoshop users, easier to spread the development costs around that way. Also, neither PS or AI will output directly to a large format printer on their own. Look at some of the versions of Flexi that do not...
  4. L25500 Vertical Banding lately?

Not having any issues here. Only time I have problems is when I am testing new substrates, especially items that I think won't handle the heat well and the passes run together since the heat was too low.
  5. Why would this happen?

My thoughts exactly. Maybe the Vanguard stuff made the perf disappear?
  6. Triangle Inks

Used it from day one with our old JV3, never had an ink related issue.
  7. L26500 Price Drop?

Would be nice, I might be buying one myself in the coming months.
  8. Which Printer? HP L28500 or ColorPainter 104"?

Everything that comes off of our L25 goes straight into finishing/assembly. Being it getting laminated, hemmed, or applied straight to a substrate. With our JV3 we had to let stuff outgas, not to mention the smell. The smaller Seiko we demoed had the same odor, if not worse.
  9. Which Printer? HP L28500 or ColorPainter 104"?

I am a latex user here and I don't plan on going back to solvents. Before we bought our L25, we had been looking at the 63" Seiko, and almost pulled the trigger on it until two Grimco reps came in and all but forced me to see a demo of the HP. I think that the Seiko would of been a faster...
  10. I need Help!

First tip to doing double-sided banners. Oversize and don't push important graphics to the edge. Exactly what's off? What are you doing to get it started in the same place?
  11. Spillage.......................

Had that happen here once with our JV3, didn't empty the tanks since it happened while we were in the office.
  12. Shooting in NYC near Empire State Building

Need to go out and get my CC license too. Been looking at what I would pick up as a "reward" for getting it.
  13. L25500 cutting media and strikes

Haven't noticed that, I'll be sure to watch it the next time I cut something though.
  14. Windows 8? Do you like it?

Win 8 "Metro" makes sense for a tablet. Full blown desktop usage, it doesn't work. I know there was a way to get to a "old desktop" screen but it was severely crippled from what a Win 7 or earlier desktop experience is. I just don't see the point, even with as cheap as MS is selling discounts...
  15. Latex media for retractables

Grey back media we have prints great and works really well in retractables, we used to use Durasol as well.
  16. Windows 8? Do you like it?

Plan on buying enough copies of 7 to get all of our office computers up to that and then sit there, 8 isn't touching any of our computers.
  17. MBIS-2 Mimaki's bulk ink system

We had zero issues with the Triangle bulk ink system when we ran our JV3.
  18. Digital Print on Lighted Sign - Best way?

We do everything on clear vinyl applied to translucent lexan. That way I don't have to stock any translucent vinyl.
  19. Digital Print on Lighted Sign - Best way?

A lot of ways to do it. In house method here is to print two files, one reverse. Use white lexan, put the right reading vinyl down first, flip the lexan over and then align and apply the reverse vinyl on the rear.
  20. small wrap project need gold lettering

May not be on paper, but someone with an Edge or Summa could print the gold.
