  1. Thickest photo-quality paper or cardstock

We got some really nice McGrann paper in a little while back, may be thicker then you are wanting, had a nice glossy finish and printed great with our L25.
  2. General Formulations Laminate 231 Automark no good.

The only item I have noticed is 4.5, but it seems like all of the laminates I have had lately are getting thinner on their backer. Here I haven't had your issue with item 3 or 4. I have actually been liking my new vinyl/laminate combination better then the 3M pair we had been using when...
  3. us tech laminator

We got ours through Pacific Coast Signs Supply, same laminator though. Happy with it, it works, like many said though it has its quirks.
  4. Auto flip every other panel?

I know the setting is in the Production Manager, not sure about the Flexi side though. So basically, yes it is available.
  5. splotchy colors on Avery wrap vinyl?

Its Avery. I'ld be calling for a replacement roll, I'ld suggest a different brand though.
  6. A word to the wise about Gerber upgrades

Wow, I thought I had problems with Flexi.
  7. Two Version of Flexi on one Computer

I did that for a while, I think they recommend not installing over an old version anyway.
  8. different issues continually really wearing on me

Nope, noticed a rearranging of multiple cut items as well. I have just started laying out the multiple items in Flexi and the sending them all as one. That way I know the cut file we be exactly as I laid it out and not as the PM thinks it needs to be. I've had a single row of decals show as a...
  9. Extended Warranties for HP Latex

Found out the price difference. Mind you they had my serial number and they informed me of my expiration date, but the HP price I was quoted was only for a new machine. Apparently buying the extended warranty anytime after its newly installed requires a much larger payout for the warranties.
  10. Horse & Buggy Software - Need a Car!

I know the Flexi has its issues, but we are long time users here. Used it with our JV3 and Summa plotter.
  11. Vinyl won't stick

If a sign goes up with that liner on it, you most likely are not getting it off. I would be a great way to keep the second side looking new if it didn't weather so badly.
  12. are they failing that often? (Print Heads)

Yes, the heads are a consumable item. Your time spent changing one out is less then a minute. The printer will spend more time calibrating and such afterwards though. It just the model HP decided to go with the printer.
  13. L25500 Substrate Presets

I record the length on the roll when I unload it. Knowing how much media I have left has been a nice improvement over our JV3.
  14. HP L26500/Graphtec FC8000 vs. Roland or Mimaki Print &Cut

Also the cutter may last through a couple of printers depending on how often you upgrade.
  15. L25500 Substrate Presets

I understand having a limited list, but especially with vinyl having two options would of been nice.
  16. JV3-160 opinions

JV3s were tanks, but they are getting up there in age. Ours still printed fine when we sold it after getting our HP. It had 8+ years on it.
  17. HP L26500/Graphtec FC8000 vs. Roland or Mimaki Print &Cut

You CAN always add a separate cutter later on, but consider its not just a contour cutting unit, it'll also cut all of you other vinyl too. As for printer tech, still liking our HP.
  18. L25500 Substrate Presets

Not that I have seen. All the profiling and temp stuff happens with your RIP though so its just a basic settings selection for the printer. Biggest thing I noticed is whether or not the Form Feed and Cut works, i.e., it doesn't with banner.
  19. HP L26500/Graphtec FC8000 vs. Roland or Mimaki Print &Cut

Separates everyday of the week. But I would switch out the Graphtec for a Summa. Like many have said earlier, once you print a job, the printer can continue on to the next and not hold up the jobs because its trying to cut the last one. With as good as the optical sensor systems have gotten...
  20. Extended Warranties for HP Latex

Anyone have any input on the extended warranties. Grimco was nice enough to email us and remind us that our warranty is up next month. And for a gracious $2529 we can extend next day, parts and labor service for 1 year. Well I had to call HP yesterday about an issue with our L25500 and the...
