  1. Wholesale source for sandblasted wood signs?

But it's not the wholesalers job to redesign what's sent to him/her/them. They're doing work for other sign companies, not end users. The problem isn't the wholesaler, it's the sign shop that designed and sold the sign.
  2. Modular Worktables & Equipment Stands

I'm actually looking to build a worktable, but I want it to be easily taken down later when I move my home shop. This looks like a great option. I'm tempted. Do you need any beta testers FireSprint? ;) I thought about doing 2 folding tables with a 4x8 sheet across the tops, but I'm not...
  3. Modular Worktables & Equipment Stands

What do you see in the big box stores that's comparable?
  4. Sign help

Another thought: Why not modify your logo to fit the building a bit better and make better use of the space you have? Here's a quick, rough idea...
  5. Sign help

TimToad is right on the money. You can have a great looking dimensional sign and make it yourself. A CNC isn't necessary, especially on something this size. You could layer the letters/backgrounds with different thicknesses of PVC. And I would move that light personally and move the...
  6. Another..."Just for Fun"

Awesome job! It would drive me crazy not to distress that puppy though.
  7. 3d sculpture

Wow, if I were in your shoes, I'd be tempted to go ahead and give it a try. You don't need a CNC for this. That's just a modern luxery. I'll bet skates would be a pretty simple shape to do and a great way to get started in 3D. I would love an opportunity like this.

  10. Sign Craft Trade Secret #77 No more lost design fees

That's why it won't work, because you don't think it will. :D Ok, maybe it isn't that simple. But we do tend to hold ourselves back by basing what we do solely on what everyone else is doing.
  11. Corel Job Time Macro?

Good info! Joe, keep pushing for that! It would be fantastic. With your pull in the Corel world, I think it could happen! Looking at the Vakcer solution now...
  12. Corel Job Time Macro?

Does anyone know of a macro for Corel which easily keeps track of time spent on projects?
  13. I designed customers artwork; they take it and run.... What the ?

Easy answer: Don't do ANY work before getting paid. That solves all issues. I understand wanting to do a design to sell a job, but my opinion is that's what your portfolio is for. Showcase your abilities and sell on your past work and good reputation. I've learned that I don't want to...
  14. Finding Experienced employees

With so many areas pushing for $15 minimum wage, I would think a sign shop should be able to swing at least that for someone without experience. If you want experience and someone to stick with you, think about $20+ I was getting paid $15 10 years ago working for a sign shop. I did have...
  15. Start of a Logo

You know, when a customer requests that I use a giant letter for multiple words, I cringe, but you pulled this off well. Very nice work!
