  2. Question I want to get into sublimation printing

What is the largest thing you want to print in sublimation? Epson's new desktop sublimation printers are a hot item now, easy to use and the ink is cheap!
  3. Help decipher this test print please

    Any update?
  4. Roland VS not Testprint

Frank, See attached sketch. To you designers out there, be kind. I'm not a designer, I just make sure what you design can be printed...
  5. Roland VS not Testprint

I saw that photo before. That's not what I need to see. Position the print head in the middle of the printer. Take a picture showing the space between the print head and the platen.
  6. Roland VS not Testprint

Please post a pic showing the gap between the printhead and the platen. I need to see if the printhead surface is parallel to the platen. Also, the printhead has a front and back, with F marked on the front circuit board and R marked on the rear circuit board. Is it in the carriage in the...

    Frank, Please post in English...
  8. Roland VS not Testprint

Netsol, Please chime in when you feel it's appropriate, as these are often collaborative efforts! No, head rank will not cause this, but should be entered to ensure the best operation of the head and insure it's longevity. As I understand things, some of what the head rank does is to apply the...
  9. Roland VS not Testprint

Look at the head from the front bottom and see if it looks perfectly parallel to the platen. As balstestrat asked, has the head rank been entered? If both of these conditions are ok, I would suggest powering down, unplugging the main power and reseating the cables on the print head.
  10. Roland VS not Testprint

I know it might be a pain to translate, but most of us that can give you expert advice are English speakers... Is the printhead seated correctly in the carriage?
  11. Roland VersaCam sp-540i Calibration problem

Sorry to give you bad news, but you have some major work to do. First, I'm going to guess whoever installed your printer did not instruct you on the basic weekly maintenance. The cap area needs to be completely cleaned or better would be to replace the caps with new Roland OEM caps. Also, clean...
  12. Roland VersaCam sp-540i Calibration problem

You cannot do the feed calibration with the heads in that condition due to the missing nozzles. Examine the bottom of the printheads for damage. Please post a clear pic of them please. Also please post a pic of the caps so we can see their general condition.
  13. Roland VersaCam sp-540i Calibration problem

Post a nozzle test print. We need to see the condition of the black channel...
  14. Roland Vp540 print perfect first print then next print sucks

The lines from the caps to the pump are clogged. You can try to clear them with cleaning fluid and a syringe. If you cannot pull anything through them, remove the caps from the printer, pull the lines off the caps, use a roller of some kind (an unopened soda can will work great) to squeegee the...
  15. Roland Vp540 print perfect first print then next print sucks

It is possible a component is heating up and starting to fail, but let's eliminate the inexpensive parts first, i.e., the dampers. What head height are you set at? This time of year static can be an issue. If your head height is on high, lower it and see if the overspray goes away or improves...
  16. Roland Vp540 print perfect first print then next print sucks

Then dampers would be good. One or more are probably starting to fail...
  17. Need Help DX7 Head with Just two conenctors each side, not 4, 31pin instead of 29pin?

Send it back. It's not the right head and even trying to make it work is pointless and if you put it in your printer, it could get really expensive, as it will likely fry some portion of your electronics...
  18. Roland Vp540 print perfect first print then next print sucks

I see from one of the pics that you have some aftermarket caps. The issue you have could be related to aftermarket parts. When was the last time you replaced the caps and dampers? You want to use Roland OEM caps and quality aftermarket dampers. Solventinkjet carries Roland OEM caps. Roland Cap...
  19. Roland Vp540 print perfect first print then next print sucks

As requested, a pic of the nozzle test print immediately after a good print job is the next step to help determine your issue. This is the only way to start to determine what is wrong...
  20. Roland Vp540 print perfect first print then next print sucks

If I understand correctly, the caps do not have ink in them after a cleaning cycle and they shouldn't. The dampers should always be at least 1/2 to 2/3 full of ink. When you print again, as soon as the print is finished, please print a nozzle test print and post here. We will go from there.
