As a tech whos been in many sign shops around the country big and small I can tell, your employees are doing side hustles behind your backs all the time. It is common for an employee to pull me aside and ask me to work on their machine after work. I'm not saying I agree with it but it's a dog...
We used to do this when we had a good supplier of the aqueous ones. The trick was to flush the head with a water alcohol solution first, then flush that out with air, then flush with solvent solution, and air again. That seemed to work the best although every once in a while we would have one...
The only way you can get that particular cartridge to work again is getting a new chip. I would also take a look in the cartridge holder with a bright flashlight and see if any of the sensors are broken. There's a little plastic lever in the back, bottom, right side of the holder that if broken...
Hmm interesting. I set up a printer one time and chose the 4 color setup when it should have been a 6 color setup. When I printed a cyan to white gradient, the cyan stopped printing about half way through. I always thought that meant that light cyan kicks in around 50% cyan. Anecdotal for sure...
Look like he's trying to manually align his print heads. He's going to print a hairline of each color, I assume on top of each other, and adjust his heads from the results.
The first thing I'm seeing in your 3rd picture is a ton of ink left on the bottom of the head. It's almost like the wiper isn't wiping. Take a good look when the machine cleans and wipes the head and make sure it's making contact. Your head surface should have some ink on it most the time but...
Check your yellow cartridge to make sure there is actually ink in it. Sometimes they will be empty and not flag the machine properly. Other than that, I would start with the damper but also take a look at the waste tubes when running a cleaning cycle and make sure you see ink flowing. If not...
I agree. As long as you take care of them the heads should last a while. I have a customer who mixes old ink with new ink and doesn't maintain it very well and we are putting heads in every 1 or 2 years it seems and that's on a JFX200!
No, Mutoh is very easy to work with on the old machines. They won't talk to you directly though so you have to go through a dealer. They won't even ask for a serial number.
Latex and Resin inks are essentially the same thing. Latex inks don't actually have latex rubber in them like a lot of people think. Latex in the context of HP ink refers to a solution of polymers in water. They mix polymers and color pigments in water and you've got HP latex ink. Resin is a...
It's not a knock on you. If you can find it post it! Like I said, I think everyone should have access to these files it's just sketchy to charge for them.
I'm all for DIY repairs and resources so more power to anyone who can get their hands on these tools. However, I can't help but have distain for someone who sells something that isn't theirs and they got for free. I have access to all of the Epson tools and manuals but part of the agreement we...
I'd look for a printer that has the same print speeds with the fewest heads possible. Did you not like the Vanguard printers? The only reason I bring it up is because the JFX600 has 12 very expensive heads and if you don't take care of the meticulously, they will fail on you. I believe the...
You don't have the "Air PG" item in the maintenance menu? You have to go through the main menu and then the maintenance menu. It won't be in the quick maintenance menu.
