  1. So this is looking bad... s80600 has been turned off for a week :(

I had a customer who had a cheap battery backup and as soon as the heaters would turn on, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
  2. Print head height

There's an interrupt near the lever under the head carriage cover. A little flag has to interrupt it to tell the machine it's in low mode. Most likely the sensor is bad or the flag or sensor got knocked out of place.
  3. Need help. Chinese xp600 UV Flatbed Printer Problems

That's true for the Ricoh heads but Epson heads like the XP600 don't use a gravity feed system. It's one of those things that sounds like it could be true so it gets repeated a lot. In fact, if you disconnect a damper on an Epson based machine, the ink will defy gravity and recede back to the...
  4. Computer type

As a self builder I agree with you 100%. However, I've noticed there are a lot of people who, no matter how convincing you can be, want to buy, "Something they know will just work." I guess if the 30% markup is worth it to them, it keeps the retail computer manufacturers in business.
  5. Adjusting From Spot Color

Use Flexi's color mapping function. You basically start with the Pantone you want and it prints out a bunch of swatches that have slightly different CMYK values. You pick the one that looks the closest to the color you want and it will print that Pantone with those CMYK values from now on...
  6. Valuejet 426 prints are blurry/cloudy

Usually the CR board doesn't cause issues. It's not impossible but very very rare. Usually it's going to be a bad cable or the main board. AS Gino mentioned, it could be static as well but in my experience, the amount of fuzziness you're getting is usually electrical. That being said, I was...
  7. Valuejet 426 prints are blurry/cloudy

Check your head cables for any damage, ink splatter, or corrosion and change if needed. Unfortunately if it's not the head cables, this issue looks to be electrical to me which would point towards a damaged board. What was the original reason for changing the head?
  8. Mimaki cg-160fxii Finds registration Mark 3/4 of the time

Good ideas above. If none of that works, you might need to adjust the sensor sensitivity. It's not something that is in the user manual though. It requires a voltmeter as well.
  9. Mutoh 1324 print issues

Yeah post a nozzle check but my first impression is ink starvation. Have you changed the dampers recently?
  10. Customer permission to post job pics online?

If the sign is in public, you don't have to ask permission to take a picture of it and post it on your site. Now you might have an ethical, moral or business reason to still want to ask permission but legally, taking a picture in public and posting to your site is well within your rights.
  11. CJV30-160 cut not dead on after print

That's where I usually print and cut a crosshair. It gives you an idea of how far you need to move it. It will take a few rounds of printing and cutting the crosshair and changing the adjustment to get it spot on.
  12. CJV30-160 cut not dead on after print

It's in the mark detect settings. You have to be in cut mode and then just hit Function>Setup>Choose your tool preset>Mark Detect Once you get to Mark Detect, just hit a few times and it will scroll through the Mark Detect settings. 2 of the settings will be X and Y offset and those basically...
  13. CJV30-160 cut not dead on after print

Are you using crop marks? If so, have you adjusted the A and B offset in the mark detect settings? If the cut is off by the same amount every time, that's the setting you need to adjust.
  14. JV 150-160 Issue (Solved)

Good to hear! Encoders can do weird things sometimes.
  15. Blocked Head

Make sure to change the dampers, replace the cap top, and flush the pump lines with cleaning solution while you're in there changing the cap top. The contamination could be coming from any of those items failing. It's still likely the head but it's worth a shot to change out those cheaper parts...
  16. JV 150-160 Issue (Solved)

I'd suggest getting a tech. It's going to be some sort of electrical issue and a tech should be able to isolate where it is. This particular model had issues with electromagnetic interference so if you've added a new piece of equipment recently, try powering that down and see if it changes...
  17. Blocked Head

I agree with above but you might also change the dampers and see if that helps at all. Sometimes a bad damper can cause such bad cross contamination. But it is very likely internal head damage.
  18. JV 150-160 Issue (Solved)

Unfortunately that looks like an electrical issue. Have you received any random errors recently? Especially if you have been getting FIFO underrun errros it would indicate a bad trailing cable.
  19. Condition of Dampers LEJ-640

Ideally a damper should be about half full but it's very common for them to be completely full especially on older dampers. It's also more common if you use a bulk system for them to be full. Be careful taking those dampers out for too long as well. Exposing them to light for too long could clog...
  20. Mutoh VJ1638UH has two print heads but only one is printing.

You probably popped one of the head fuses on the main board. Double check your head cables to make sure they are plugged in nice and straight and aren't damaged or dirty. Then test the fuses on the main board. I've attached a picture where they are. They are 750mA fuses and user replaceable.
