  1. News Broken Heart

My condolences to you and your family. Cam was basically the reason I'm in this industry. He was the only one to give me a chance fresh out of school with no experience. Thanks to him I have a career that I love. R.I.P. Cam.
  2. Color Shifting...

What % of warranty are your printheads at?
  3. Need Help Ready To Upgrade - Not Sure Direction... Solvent, Latex, Other...

So Latex prints don't require way more heat to cure the ink than solvent? The answer is yes. I didn't say it couldn't be done, it's just easier/ more reliable on a solvent machine that requires much less heat. I've used both. If you're a shop doing mostly decals a solvent machine is by far the...
  4. Need Help Ready To Upgrade - Not Sure Direction... Solvent, Latex, Other...

If you are doing lots of decals / print & cut stay away from the HP's they require much more heat than solvent so getting accurate cuts is much more of a P.I.T.A. than on say a Roland.
  5. Question Alternative To Dfp8000

okay, Arlon DPF8000 is way overkill for drywall and you'll never get it off the wall! Btw, You should not need air release for wall graphics with proper technique. We use Avery MPI2611 for most indoor wall graphics and are doing about 1000ft of wall graphics next month using the Avery. It's...
  6. Question Alternative To Dfp8000

What type of wall is it?
  7. Design Software To Sign Software

Not my rip. I think you missed the OP. I agree with you, but I've been asked to send flattened files because of issues with Flexi and Signlab.
  8. Design Software To Sign Software

Cool Thanks for the input guys. I never knew EPS didn't save ICC profiles! Jesus... I do just want to save the files how I would want them, but you're right. Just save how they request them. The thing is I've run many types of printers and rips and it's rare for me to have issues, but since...
  9. Design Software To Sign Software

Hey everyone, I am looking for some feedback on workflows from Adobe to Flexi or signlab etc? If you use this software what file format do you require? I have been designing for over ten years, signs, wraps, print products, tradeshow etc. It's very rare I ever have issues with my files BUT it's...
  10. Question Cast all the time?

Calendared vinyl works well for flat vehicle graphics. I would just recommend using a decent calendared vinyl though such as oracal 3651, 3M IJ35 or 3M IJ40 etc. Basically don't use really cheap vinyls unless you don't like your customer very much.
  11. What Roland would buy if you where opening a new shop.

Great to hear Altereddezignz, I have zero experience with epsons but it seems like they are really improving their printers lately. Which is good to have healthy competition, not just mainly Roland and HP.
  12. Shop truck critique

Hey Signtime, I don't see a problem with it if you're still a smaller company. For larger companies it's much more detrimental for them to change colours. It may be an idea to have the red logo for the branding of certain aspects of your business and the blue for wrap/vehicle graphic specific...
  13. Recognize this? Font ID PLEASE?

    That's not a specific font. It's a tattoo man...lol
  14. How do you handle clients ideas vs logo design?

I disagree. Good design is not a fad.
  15. How do you handle clients ideas vs logo design?

The struggle is real. I'm usually straight up as I can be with the customer. I like to get the most input possible because in their sometimes silly explanation of what they are looking for, you can usually pull some ideas from that. Although probably not how the customer intended. I found the...
  16. Does anyone use Image Club 10?

I have a subscription with them but it's not worth it. The search sucks, the image quality and vectors suck and there not much selection. No good...gets the job done I guess, but there is way better out there. I just did a test to illustrate how bad it is... Search for "flourishes" under...
  17. How annoying is this to you................??

I figured out how you have such a high post count. You post the same things every year. lol Last years post about the same thing: "Can't believe it..............................I haven't been to a show in Atlantic City in about 4 years, yet, I'm being bombarded with e-mails from vendors...
  18. Large high resolution graphics for signs

Use vector graphics so you don't need to worry about resolution. I did a quick search at vectorstock and there are many beautiful vectors of galaxies. If it HAS to be nice and crisp when viewed up close, use vector if possible.
  19. VersaWorks problem

ah I'm running Versaworks Dual now, but if I go to Program Files > Roland Versaworks Dual > Versaworks > Printers > VG640 > "Job A" or "Job B" I have files in there that I have deleted in such a situation in the past. Not sure if this is the folder you already tried or not though...
  20. HEALTH INSURANCE!........How I loathe you!

According to the center for disease that's not true...I don't see perscription drugs on there anywhere. Heart disease: 614,348 • Cancer: 591,699 • Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 147,101 • Accidents (unintentional injuries): 136,053 • Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 133,103 •...
