  1. Cartoon illustrator needed

I can draw cartoons, too. But I am not nearly as good as either Weasel or John Deaton. Love....Jill
  2. Gilding: NEWBIE

Great advice. I don't gild a lot, but for that I would probably go with loose leaf. Your background looks really rough textured to me.
  3. Gilding: NEWBIE

Heck, that looks really bizarre. What kind of primer? Did you use metallic or imitation gold 1 Shot? What kind of size are you using? Which type of gold leaf? Love....Jill
  4. The most overused font in 2013 is.....

I just saw it on a roll of paper towels!
  5. Saying good by

Take care, Colt, and don't be a stranger! Love....Jill
  6. New Truck Lettering

Dan...you were the reason I did it. This should last at least 5 years or so. Particularly since I rarely wash my truck. :Big Laugh My old vynull was gold glass etch Oracal, it looked good until the past six months or so (lettered in 2009) Thanks so much, folks. I really enjoyed...
  7. Tape measures...how many is too many?

You can never have enough. And I can eyeball and then measure, and it's almost always straight. My fave is a regular wooden yardstick, but I have steel rulers and about 4 tape measures. Love.....jill
  8. New Truck Lettering

My old vynull was beginning to look shabby so I thought "What the heck, I'm gonna paint that thing" So I did. All hand-done, gal is based on a Gil Elvgren pin-up. Took about 3 hours, using a pattern I taped to the inside of the glass. Love....Jill
  9. I can'g mess this up! Help

The easiest method would be to faux finish it using lettering enamels. Love...jill
  10. Recent Work

I mainly use Ronan, I tell them 5-7 years. But really, as a painted sign ages, it acquires a whole new cool look. Can't say that about vinyl. Gino, do you still have the 1980s 1S? Also, I've heard that 1S is going to be reformulated. I plan on gradually switching over to Nova, the...
  11. Recent Work

Thank you. Signs dried up July 1st or thereabouts. I've been getting about 1 job a week and had to get a new "real" job. I did get one painted truck last month and that was a lot of fun. Still hanging on by the skin of my teeth. The hacks win. :frustrated:
  12. Classic Golf Cart in (turd) Firetruck out....

You did a really nice job. Would have been really neat to do it old-style truck lettering. Why do they always want a damn firetruck pic ON a fire truck? Particularly like the way you diamond plated it up and the custom ladders. Now that is some real skill. Love....Jill
  13. Revamp this logo without changing the look

Their logo is really dated. Some people feel married to a bad logo because of the amount of time they've used it. Simplify and change up the fonts, as has been suggested. De-nipple and de-bird it. My outlines look a little busy in the thumbnail. Love....Jill
  14. Birthday Memorial Gift for Dad

That's such a nice tribute. Good way to occupy your brain in a positive manner, too. Our dads live on through us. I know mine does. Love....Jill
  15. Non-Gerber software compatible with Envision 375???

    Maybe Corel? Love....Jill
  16. pulling my hair out

    Please, please don't use Serpentine.
  17. pulling my hair out

This one is after taking Dan's advice.
  18. pulling my hair out

Some part of me will always like Papyrus just the teeniest bit (for Church bulletins only) Usually when people "discover" that font they simply must have it. If you're doing cut vynull, it's one of those fonts (like the dreaded Mistral) that sucks to cut and weed due to the many nodes...
