  1. 6mm sintra routed

Anyone with a cnc can do that. If nobody pipes up near you, PM me. Simple job.
  2. Discussion Cut letters / wrap films

Yeah, these wouldn't be so small, but I would see the issue. Get that occasionally with the IJ180 on some of my "regular" printed and cut stuff.
  3. Discussion Cut letters / wrap films

Somewhere in here I thought I had read about someone using wrap vinyl for "regular" vinyl lettering on a vehicle. I'm facing the same thing - I have a client that just absolutely has to have 3M's military matte green for their lettering on their vehicle (which is black..). It's not a wrap, just...
  4. Need Help Code Violation: Can't park my commercial vehicle at my own house?!

Bob must be a card carrying member of the ACLU.
  5. Need Help Code Violation: Can't park my commercial vehicle at my own house?!

First, a commercial vehicle is not a sign, so your argument over 'free speech' based on the Reed vs Town is irrelevant. There are codes clearly on the books in his little neck of the woods that state a commercial vehicle cannot be parked overnight at a residence. Plus, as KW found: § 72.110...
  6. Question CG-160FXII trouble plotting reflective on long runs

Not being familiar with that plotter, I suspect that the weight of the vinyl is pulling it one way or another. I'd put all the rollers to "strong" (or whatever), and try to have the vinyl enter and exit as flat as possible to the cutting surface. Can you rig a temporary "table" on the feed side...
  7. Need Help Code Violation: Can't park my commercial vehicle at my own house?!

Technically, no. The Ford badge on your truck is the manufacturer. The "Star Wraps" with a website clearly visible is a marketing/advertising vehicle and therefore falls into a commercial category, regardless of how it's insured or registered. The minute anyone puts anything to promote a...

  9. Need Help Code Violation: Can't park my commercial vehicle at my own house?!

And the Bay area in CA doesn't have so many laws, Bob? I'd be willing to wager you haven't looked to closely at your own codes to know what's really allowed. Backing into a parking space is not legal in many places - for those states that don't require front license plates it's to allow the rear...
  10. Need Help Code Violation: Can't park my commercial vehicle at my own house?!

Hardly. If your vehicle is marked in a manner promoting a company, it's automatically a commercial vehicle. The vehicle does not need to have commercial plates or be a certain weight limit. I have no markings, no special plate and yet it's a commercial vehicle because I need it to be insured as...
  11. Need Help Code Violation: Can't park my commercial vehicle at my own house?!

Right. It's a commercial vehicle parked overnight in a residential district. If it's marked, it's commercial. See here: Improper Storage of Commercial Vehicle Some types of commercial vehicles, such as vans and pick-up trucks, may be stored on residential property. Such vehicles must be screened...
  12. Need Help Code Violation: Can't park my commercial vehicle at my own house?!

Lots of municipalities say you cannot have a commercial vehicle parked within view of the street if you own it. Check your own local codes. Your fault if you don't research it, sorry. But I'll bet it says something like 'in view of the street', so drive it around back.
  13. Question Using Digital Print on reclaimed wood. Possible? Clear coat? FrogJuice?

That's the only way I would try to do a direct application - seal the wood completely. If you can get it to stick, you shouldn't need a topcoat as it would be just like lettering anything else smooth. Your client may not like the look of a glossy piece of wood though depending on the...

  16. How much time does a vinyl cutter will stay competitive ?

I can't even remember when I bought my T750 from Summa. It's been at least 17 years, if not more. The only "maintenance" I've done is replace the head last year... still tracks and cuts flawlessly.
  17. paint on vinyl?

Might get away with automotive urethane, but you'll need to prep everything with a flex agent first. Of course, you could always ignore the spec and do it correctly as long as you're not losing money doing it.
  18. Need Help Havoc boats green

Got a PMS chart? Have a boat handy? Seeing they are in the same state as you it shouldn't be too hard to find one to make a match.
  19. Need Help Dome stickers losing color?

Unless you have a lab that can do accelerated environmental testing, your testing is done in the field. I tend to agree with RJ that the resin is interacting with the inks (personally, I like the darker look though :-)). In any case, I've got a domed decal I did on my truck as a test bed.. been...
  20. Corian sandblasting before paint

You'll be fine. I usually do stuff like that with enamels, but I don't see why automotive acrylic enamel wouldn't work. You can save a step by masking the surface before you rout your copy - that way you can paint over your mask and not touch the surface with the paint.
