  1. Discussion So, how many are gonna...............................

That would seem to be the case. This 'narrative' to which you and others refer is nothing more than a seemingly endless collection of nebulous statements and references to popular folklore. If not outright false then at least so amorphous as to be meaningless to the point where truth or falsity...
  2. Need Help Mutoh 1204

Exactly so. In bi-directional mode it will only print a maximum width of 47.3" or something like that. Why this should be the case doesn't seem to be explained anywhere. Explained or not, it is how the thing works.
  3. Need Help True black to transparent fade or gradient.

That is the single hardest thing to print on a CMYK machine. The gradient is rendered in CMYK, not in black and if all things are not perfect it will wander from green to magenta in the mid-tones. There is no magic bean.
  4. Discussion So, how many are gonna...............................

Mindfulness of what exactly? Seems to me that those that are participating in a protest of a system that allows them to protest. Pointless but mildly amusing nonetheless.
  5. Mounting canvas prints 24″ x 36″

It's called a 'gallery wrap' and it's quite simple to do. I've done hundreds of them and pretty much do them in my sleep. The first one you do will be a bit of an education but unless you're a complete maladroit you won't screw it up There are countless you tube videos explaining the procedure...
  6. What is a more proper description?

Height x Width. 'Portrait' and 'landscape' are post-computer jargon to describe local printing of word processing data. Since height and/or width are rather meaningless in a WP free-form text format. Hence the 'landscape' and 'portrait' because the paper size is constant and output width is...
  7. Intellectual property infringement or public domain?

Pretty much any thing design-wise that's owned but a government apparatus is in the public domain.
  8. Need Help Design tips for curved rear window - perforated vinyl

Not everything requires a tutorial or a video. Attend: Most vehicle rear windows are a three dimensional object. Since you layout and produce signs in two dimensions you have to flatten the subject window into two dimensions so that you can see what shape to make your sign so that is will...
  9. Need Help Design tips for curved rear window - perforated vinyl

Make a paper template of the window. Just tape some paper down over the widow and trace the outline with a sharpie. Then lay the template flat on a table or the floor, lay a 16x24 framing square on top of it reasonably square to the outline and take a picture of it by standing right over it...
  10. News How to Design Exceptional Signs in 20 Minutes or Less

I should think you need a variation, the same basic sign but with the brain part being mashed by a mallet or deflated or being sliced by a chainsaw or something to indicate 'brain damaged'. Then not only Pelosi and Brown but their entire squad of bicycle thieves and other assorted sycophants...
  11. News How to Design Exceptional Signs in 20 Minutes or Less

Those that are 'intellectually disabled' are every bit as slow as those that are retarded. A metabolically challenged specimen smells just as bad after three days in the sun as a corpse.
  12. News How to Design Exceptional Signs in 20 Minutes or Less

Sign design? Really? Is this some form of euphemistic transubstantiation? By calling what has been know for time immemorial a 'layout' a 'design' makes it something more or different than it actually is? Like 'refuse disposal technician' for 'garbageman' or 'mentally challenged' for 'retarded'...
  13. Custom Balloons

You have internet access and you have to ask? The concept of doing a search for 'custom balloons' escapes you?
  14. Discussion Can I use brand logos on my design without permission (please read)

What, exactly, does a Canadian pirate sound like when it says 'AAARRRRGGGHH". Does it say "AAARRRRGGGHH eh"?
  15. Discussion Can I use brand logos on my design without permission (please read)

Since I reject almost all manifestations of 'intellectual property' the circumstances which you ponder are: almost any. What if? If? If my aunt had a dick she'd be my uncle. The material implication, a formal deductive construct, commonly seen as a statement in the form 'If A then B" or, the...
  16. Discussion Can I use brand logos on my design without permission (please read)

The very flavor of tortured reasoning that keeps untold numbers of scum-sucking layers employed. By this convoluted logic merely having a can of Red [or any other color] Bull in your hand could be proclaimed unauthorized usage.
  17. New color

You're a PRC [don't pronounce that] happy worker or perhaps a Nork? Who would of guessed.
  18. New color

A really obscure riposte: I'm sure that those in the local home for the mentally indisposed will be thrilled by this news.
  19. Really cool looking storefront!

    Yawn.
  20. Transfer Tape Applicator

Looks like a clever gadget you could throw together from a couple of bar clamps and some odds and ends. One problem though, how do you make sure that both of the spools are level with each other. Not so easy with bar clamps. Just a wee bit mis-aligned and the application tape roll is not...
