It might help to post a close up picture of an example. Not sure what you mean by "grainy". When the cut lines start getting less clean or if you have to set the pressure unusually high to cut through, it's probably time for a fresh blade. When you start to see a perforated look in your cuts or...
I don't understand how you twist my post around into this? I'm the one that got slapped on the wrist for giving Joe Nascar a hard time in the other thread. What makes you think now that I want non-signmakers in the mix? I most certainly don't. Why am I suddenly on a high horse? WTF? I was just...
Since we're apparently going to continue this in a public forum...
I must say, I feel privileged to have earned one of the 10 to 15 infractions that you say have ever been handed out at S101. If you go review the thread I was given the infraction for, you'll find that it is a thread strikingly...
WTF are you talking about?? I didn't ask for anyone to hold anyone's hand. Please point out where I did. Read back though my posts and find what I asked for. A rough price. That's all I asked for. A rough price. It's as simple as that. A rough price. I laid out all the basic information anyone...
That's ridiculous Signage. Besides, it doesn't matter what your intentions are with a brand or image... it really only matters how it is perceived. In this case, whether you like it or not, Signs 101 implies "Signs for Beginners".
With all due respect Fred, you should take another look at the image this site is portraying. The name of the site itself seems to indicate that this is a site for those new to the industry. I'm completely sure you realize that "101" is a classification for entry level college classes. Why then...
Another typical S101 jackass. I'm not a noob. I'm simply not a licensed sign electrician. It would be illegal for me to crack open the sign and it would be unethical for me to give my client advise on electrical issues.
I'm a member of S101 because I'm in the sign and printing industry. I...
Just the usual. A newbie asks a dumb question. Every member, op and mod stops everything they are doing to unleash a fireball of fury on the newb. There are probably a thousand other threads just like this one on here.
Thanks diesel, but I didn't ask for a "philosophy of economics in the sign industry" lesson today. I asked for some rough pricing on a very specific thing. It's not that complicated. If you don't have an anwer, just go on about your business and ignore the thread.
Don't you guys think this is a little unprofessional? Sure, I know some members here can't always bite their tongues. But this type of situation should probably be handled in private. What is the purpose of ops/mods giving the guy 30 lashes in a public forum for asking a question? Why not just...
Wow. Didn't think this was going to be this complicated. The question seemed simple enough.
We are a wrap shop. We do not do electrical signs. I, personally, am not going to touch this sign. I'm doing the legwork for a very good customer of mine. He wants to update his sign that hasn't been...
It's an old sign. The cabinet and retainers are in great shape. However, at least half the lights are out. I highly doubt it's just bulbs. I'm sure some ballasts are dead too. So, the customer and I figured it's probably best to get a worst case scenario cost to gut it and then see how it looks...
GRRRRR... I was 95% through a long ass truck bed panel on 180cv3 for a rush job that we have to start installing in the morning. GRRRRRRRR. I turned my back for 10 minutes... and the RIP computer ran Windows updates and automatically restarted. GRRRRRRR. I wish Versaworks was able to pick up...
We installed some racing stripes for a customer recently that were ordered from the dealership. They looked like metal flake paint on vinyl... but it wasn't nearly as flexible as controltac. Does this stuff really flex well? If so, looks cool! Might have to give it a try.
