What i was ment to say was how flat is the table? if you print a solid black on another stock, does the banding appear to look the same?

you dont need to change the encoderstrip. i dont think it's chanable. It's a process of elimination though. The thing i can see is that it's very consistent. same spot. How level is the table?

Doesn't mean they didn't work with them. They would have had a product manager or something finding all the options, and dbrand would have tested them all. Only way to know if it work is to test them. also they say "special" so other people cannot easily copy their product.

Clean the encoder strips first. just looks like it happens in the same spot. this could also be the media. is the ink completely dry? or tacky?

+1 on the colorado. Canon are releasing a "budget" version very soon which is just 1650 with less options. no matte, 1 roll in the draw etc that's upgradable for a cheaper entry point.

There's software out there "pdf color servers" that actually do this very good. they convert PDFs from one colour space to another very easily. I believe it's more for inhouse stuff, but if you do a lot of converting, it may be worth getting. No idea how expensive it is though, i would believe...
