  1. Canon Colorado 1650 Question

Ours was very bad at the start, we had the stainless strip replaed and it mostly went away. It happens on fast print modes and more narrow media.
  2. Need Help Web site domains

Only worth it if someone is willing to pay for it. Have seen some expensive domains up for years

    interpass delay? what's this?
  5. UV Roll to Roll printers

I haven't seen it in person, but i have looked at EFIs range on paper. 257SQM is a little on the slow size, as im looking for something with 4x CMYK / 16 heads at least to at least get in the neighbourhood of 150-160SQM in a production mode. I know what im after is very specific, and i...
  6. Need Help Has Anyone Ever Tried This?

Realistically - no. Because you cannot easily set the RMO to stop exactly where you want it to align the prints. You could try with a small test, but i wouldn't count on it.
  7. UV Roll to Roll printers

Yeah im waiting on samples from the Karibu S. the speed of the S is a lot better than the standard version and makes it a lot more appealing. The colorado is a great machine, but it has complications with one of our stocks we run. So when we upgrade, we'll need a machine like the karibu & Durst...
  8. UV Roll to Roll printers

Had a look at specs, it's a little slow for what i need. Our Colorado is on about 1000SQM a week in matte mode. our upgrade needs to at least double the speed or more.
  9. Yellow turns green in sunlight.

He asked for advice. Our advice is to get better lighting if he wants to colour match indoors. What's your advice to him? o_O
  10. Yellow turns green in sunlight.

Easy rule of thumb, if they dont display a CRI, they're generally not so great. Good thing is that more high CRI globes are getting more available Fluro & LED give off a different spectrum of light. and also the wattage makes a huge difference. Fluro is generally better but LED has came a long...
  11. I need advice on deciding between three approved ADA manufacturers

This is usually have a relationship with those who are provided on the quote, or in this case "approved manufactured of ADA sigs" which usually means it's done to spec and no liability issues and goes on. Same goes with us, As we do a lot of glass splashbacks, there's regulations to follow and...
  12. Yellow turns green in sunlight.

most signshops dont use any specific lighting. D50 lighting isn't cheap either unfortunately. But it is recommended if you're doing anything regarding colour matching, or else you'll be like OP and get different colour matching results inside and outside. The other way to colour match is with...
  13. Yellow turns green in sunlight.

Okay wow, almost all of you are wrong. Colour temps 5000k 6500k are not to be used for reference in printing. D50 is the lighting condition / colour you should be looking at. https://www.waveformlighting.com/color-matching/what-is-d50-for-graphic-arts-printing 5000k 6500k etc yes they're a...
  14. Arizona 360GT or HP R1000 purchase

Our Arizona doesn't give off much of an odor, its also required to have some amount of air changes per hour. Most flatbeds have options of white and varnish.
  15. Arizona 360GT or HP R1000 purchase

HP have more consumables than Oce/Canon machines too. they all go straight to a landfill.
  16. Video Game Background

That's fair enough as it was apart of his logo. Different situation.
  17. Arizona 360GT or HP R1000 purchase

Arizona for acrylic prints. having the vacuum hold the acrylic down so it doesn't warp is key. Also the 360GT is very old vs the HP R1000. You should be looking at the 1300GTS or XTS (if you want a larger table) configuring it with double white will speed up printing white ink
  18. Video Game Background

It's fine as it's apart of his business. His promoting that he has that particular game and those consoles. his not selling the artwork.
  19. Need Help Onyx Profiling, how to change head speed / scan speed?

Having a faster scan speed also will degrade the quality. head speed affects the print speed also. so if OP wants to speed up the printing process, he can choose less passes.
  20. Making Your Own ICC Profile

Many reasons i'd have a automated spectro VS a hand held with a ruler. Accuracy & Speed are the main 2. Especially if you're working with a new media and may have to make a few profiles before you're happy. it saves a lot of time. I use a Barbieri LFP RT s3 and a barbieri Spectropad s2. 90%...
